A Little about myself and how i came to be the “Breastfeeding whisperer”. LOL

I’m a mom of 2 beautiful daughter’s and a grandmother of 2 breastfed grandson’s,

a fiance to my sweetie, a step mom, a sister, a aunt, and a daughter to my amazing aging mom. oh and did i mention i still work full time as a Lactation Consultant at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

So one fine day ......

I am minding my own business at the local WIC office, and along came a life changing decision at my baby Madeline's 1 yr appointment.

an amazing nutritionist named Yvette asked me to work there at WIC. i asked her “doing what”? she excitedly replies, “ Teaching mom’s and babies how to breastfeed “.

I told her i didn't know a thing about that, yet i had just completed my year of breastfeeding my baby. i still felt i had nothing of wisdom and insight in that wonderful mystery of breastfeeding. i agreed and soon was off on an array of never ending breastfeeding training's and schooling, notice i said never ending.

because i’m still learning from training's, people who played a major role in this journey like the breastfeeding lady herself, the one and only Lauri Beck who was my study partner for my board exam, Martha Carballeira, and last on my cheer leading team is DR Marilyn Brodeur.

these ladies have taught me so much and i appreciate there vote of confidence in everything i bring to them, there support means everything to me.

so here i am killing it, i’m 19 years strong in helping every pregnant and postpartum woman in Corpus Christi that has come across my seat. i love my mom’s and babies, it’s the best feeling in the world when a mom tells me “ you're the reason i breastfed my baby”. Wow!

i tear up all the time, i give out hugs at successes and i give out hugs at “no so successes” and no one ever cries alone in my office. i’m now taking this away from WIC and filling my evenings and weekends with helping all mom’s from every walk of life.

i’m doing more and more private practice on my spare time and loving it. i love doing what i do all the time. so needless to say, please let me help you on your breastfeeding Journey. lactation support is so important and helpful in those early days.
