Our Story
CranioSacral Therapy for people of all ages, equine and campanion pets. CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle manual therapy that relaxes the CNS(central nervous system) to facilitate self- healing. CST honors the bodies inherent ability to self-correct. When trauma is experienced the body naturally and immediately works to correct the effect of the trauma. For instance, if you receive a cut, you will bleed, the blood will coagulate and form a scab, then the body will regenerate tissue and heal the wound. This may sound simple, but the body goes through multiple complex tasks directed by the brain via the nervous system to achieve this healing. From birth our bodies are in a constant dance of self-correction and healing. When our body can not self-correct it will adapt. When it can no longer adapt is when we become vulnerable to disease and degradation. A skilled CranioSacral Therapist will palpate the body and can feel where the "inner wisdom/inner physician" is trying to make the self-correction. By gently encouraging the body toward it’s innate determined self-correction, the body can get past barriers or restrictions that may prevent self-healing. I've been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1995—NM #2316. While in massage school I was introduced to CranioSacral Therapy. My interest was piqued by the gentle, non-invasive aspect of this work. Facilitating a body's inner wisdom for a natural and therapeutic change is quite profound. My passion is to facilitate the healer within you. I am a Certified CranioSacral Therapist with the American CranioSacral Therapy Association (http://www.acsta.com/) and The Upledger Institute, International Association of Healthcare Practitioners (http://www.iahp.com/). Equine and small animal CST is a holistic healing method highly effective in improving the health and well-being of horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, lizards, etc... and can assist in a variety of situations including head shaking, head injuries and trauma, lameness, nerve paralysis, spinal injuries, emotional problems, behavioral and learning issues. I have found that CST is very effective for riders and pet owners.
