We had a wonderful Cinco de Mayo celebration today at Corrigan LTC! 🇲🇽💃

Our residents enjoyed delicious mango margaritas, cheesecake sopapillas, and Mexican cookies while listening to festive music and spending time together. We also had lots of fun playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey and getting creative by coloring and decorating piñatas! 🪅🌵

✨ May the FOURTH (Force) be with you! We had an absolute blast celebrating Star Wars Day today! 💥

Our residents struck their best poses with lightsabers (aka pool noodles 😉), took on Darth Vader and his big bad balloons (and won, of course—our resident Jedis are tough!), and enjoyed some refreshing Yoda Soda.

All of it was set to the iconic music from Star Wars—making it a day full of fun, laughter, and a little bit of galactic adventure! 🌟

We are celebrating National Pet Therapy Day today with a visit from Christina and Ruth from Gentiva Hospice. ❤️

The benefits of pet therapy include reduced anxiety and depression, as well as improved mood due to endorphin release.

Furthermore, pet therapy improves physical health by lowering blood pressure and encouraging movement and aids in managing dementia symptoms by reducing agitation.

Through these interactions, seniors receive companionship, unconditional love, and a sense of purpose. 🐶

Monday Mocktails are a resident favorite! We played a hydration game with them. I’d say take a drink if you…had to dial a “0” to talk to the operator, know what an 8-track is, know what a party line is, etc. It’s not just great for hydration but also reminiscing and getting to know each other more. ❤️
