Chronic UTI?

Chronic UTI is common in menopausal women. A common cause of chronic UTI is loss of estrogen due to menopause.

UTI-related spending represents approximately one-third of the total annual Medicare spend for patients diagnosed with a UTI.

Even women who have been told they are not candidates for estrogen (I.E. history of hormone + breast cancer or blood clot) can still be treated with vaginal estrogen!

I just had a conversation with a patient who is getting hormones from her primary care. That's great! But her hormones are NOT optimized and she doesn't feel great. She literally said "I want to come see you because my P*P is dealing with my other problems and she doesn't have time for my hormones"

I say YES YES YES!!!! Don't overwhelm your health care providers. Let them do what they do best!

This patient and I agree that it's no coincidence The Lord sent him our way! He has been encouraged to receive high dose Vitamin C infusions from his oncologist at the Mayo Clinic.

I am so excited to know that there are oncologists who are encouraging patients to use alternative treatments in conjunction with their traditional methods for treatment.

He was also encouraged to use diet and exercise, but most importantly this patient has such a positive outlook on his current situation. He is so filled with peace and joy, it's literally palpable when we get to spend time with him.

Average age of perimenopause is somewhere in the 40s (characterized by sporadic hormone levels)

Average age of menopause is in the early 50s (characterized by the cessation of hormone production)

Symptoms of both can include fatigue, irritability, depression/anxiety, brain fog, loss of libido, hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin, joint pain, frozen shoulder, and MORE!
