Shelley Jordan, Southwest Health System’s Senior System Analyst/IT Controller, is recognized as Southwest Health System’s 2nd Quarter 2025 Leader of the Quarter!

Shelly received her nomination for her Leader of the Quarter award from Lauri Berger and peers who said, "Sometimes, it is the quiet leaders who make the most profound impact. One individual who has recently stood out is Shelley Jordan, whose consistent demonstration of commitment to the organization's mission has not gone unnoticed. Shelley has played a key role in easing concerns surrounding the transition to Cerner Ambulatory. She continually reminds us of the value of having a single, unified medical record to support the highest quality patient care. Her calm presence during stressful times and her ability to reassure others of their worth and contributions are truly remarkable. With a positive attitude and a talent for finding the good in every challenge, Shelley encourages those around her to take pride in their work and strive for continuous improvement. She maintains an open-door policy, always willing to listen, making her a trusted peer and support leader. Her department holds her in the highest regard as a team player and advocate, and her reputation extends beyond her own team. "Shelly always has patient impact in mind when it comes to the decisions made in IT. From the trivial things (i.e., choosing which privacy screen to order) to the bigger things like the upcoming transition to Cerner Ambulatory for the clinics. Shelley is taking steps to confirm timeline, training, data transfer, and implementation processes in attempts to lessen the stress on front-line staff and improve patient outcomes. She will be an integral part of providing data to leadership for estimates of the fiscal impact we will see during the implementation process, as she pulls countless reports, as she did the last time we started this process. Shelley is a very caring and compassionate member of our team. While Shelley is now IT Coordinator, she did not start her career in the medical field here. She has worked in the clinics, with a touch of clinical background and managing a clinic with multiple providers and support staff. I believe it is this background and training that allows her to keep her focus on staff and patient impact and contributes to the compassion she shows daily."

Raychel Stiegelmeyer, RN in the Southwest Health System’s ICU department, is recognized as Southwest Health System’s June employee of the month!

Raychel was recognized by Peers, who said, "I would like to recognize Raychel for her teamwork, leadership, and for being an all-around great nurse. Raychel joined our ICU team eager to learn, grow, and try new things … all with a smile on her face and asking, “What can I do to help?” I am convinced that Raychel doesn’t know the word “no.” During her orientation, she requested to have a few shifts in FBC so she could better understand their role and could assist as a Charge RN in the times they needed her most. During these orientation shifts, she assisted with a critical delivery, an emergency c-section, and the transfer of a baby. But those experiences, along with her open mindset and willingness to help others, set her up to be a great resource on a critical shift. Recently, on a night shift, Raychel was charge and supporting FBC. We had two contract RN’s staffed that night who were newer to our facility. FBC had a patient come in with a known placenta previa in labor. Raychel was assisting with a transfer when plans suddenly changed, and they were off for an emergency C-section. Raychel was such a great support to her team and was able to shift gears seamlessly. Later, she was able to support with a post-partum hemorrhage and a critical newborn. I truly feel our patients received better care because of Raychel. I also know that our staff felt more supported with her on their team for the night. I know this is just one night and one example, but it is not outside of Raychel’s normal commitment to her team and patients. Raychel – thank you for stepping outside of your comfort zone and being team-focused. Our team is better with you as part of it."
