Southwest Health System (SHS) operates Southwest Memorial Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital, and Southwest Medical Group, which comprises clinics offering primary care and specialty services. In addition, SHS provides the latest medical and surgical technology, emergency care, a vast array of out-patient medical and wellness services. SHS is managed by Community Hospital Consulting (CHC), the m

anagement and consulting arm of Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) of Plano, Texas. “We continue to bring our expertise in hospital management and talent in critical areas of hospital operations to strengthen SHS,” said CHC’s Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations, Craig Sims. CHC Consulting specializes in managing and operating smaller, community-based hospitals across the country. The Southwest Health System board usually convenes on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The public is invited to attend the open portion of the meetings. The hospital CEO is appointed by and reports to the SHS board of directors and is employed by Community Hospital Corporation. The CEO appoints and manages the health system through members of the Senior Leadership Team, including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, and the Practice Administrator. Raychel Stiegelmeyer, RN in the Southwest Health System’s ICU department, is recognized as Southwest Health System’s June employee of the month!

Raychel was recognized by Peers, who said, "I would like to recognize Raychel for her teamwork, leadership, and for being an all-around great nurse. Raychel joined our ICU team eager to learn, grow, and try new things … all with a smile on her face and asking, “What can I do to help?” I am convinced that Raychel doesn’t know the word “no.” During her orientation, she requested to have a few shifts in FBC so she could better understand their role and could assist as a Charge RN in the times they needed her most. During these orientation shifts, she assisted with a critical delivery, an emergency c-section, and the transfer of a baby. But those experiences, along with her open mindset and willingness to help others, set her up to be a great resource on a critical shift. Recently, on a night shift, Raychel was charge and supporting FBC. We had two contract RN’s staffed that night who were newer to our facility. FBC had a patient come in with a known placenta previa in labor. Raychel was assisting with a transfer when plans suddenly changed, and they were off for an emergency C-section. Raychel was such a great support to her team and was able to shift gears seamlessly. Later, she was able to support with a post-partum hemorrhage and a critical newborn. I truly feel our patients received better care because of Raychel. I also know that our staff felt more supported with her on their team for the night. I know this is just one night and one example, but it is not outside of Raychel’s normal commitment to her team and patients. Raychel – thank you for stepping outside of your comfort zone and being team-focused. Our team is better with you as part of it."

Dr. Clyde is dedicated to helping patients stay active, mobile, and pain-free through expert care and a patient-first approach. As a specialist in foot and ankle conditions, he believes in empowering patients through education, ensuring they fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options.

Beyond his credentials, Dr. Clyde is known for his integrity, loyalty, and dedication to his patients and family. When not in the clinic or operating room, he enjoys mountain biking, trail running, woodworking, camping, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.

Dr. Clyde is board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. His clinical expertise includes:

Donna Wilson, CSS Tech in the Southwest Health System’s Surgery department is recognized as Southwest Health System’s May employee of the month!

Donna was recognized by her coworkers, who said, "Donna has devoted 18 years to Southwest, primarily in central sterile, where her dedication to patient safety shines through. She takes immense pride in preparing sterilized instruments and trays for surgeries, often going above and beyond by working extra hours and volunteering on her days off, especially when a coworker retired. Always punctual, she maximizes her limited downtime by helping, whether it’s organizing supplies, folding scrubs, or managing waste. Her proactive approach extends to turning over rooms between surgeries, gathering necessary instruments for the medical staff, restocking linens, and fetching supplies during procedures. Recently, when the team was short-staffed on a Monday, Donna stepped in to support her colleagues, demonstrating her exceptional commitment. She consistently arrives early to ensure autoclaves are operational and is willing to come in after hours or on weekends to meet urgent needs, such as preparing pan sets for OB or restocking trays for upcoming surgeries. Donna's extensive knowledge of instrumentation makes her an invaluable resource, and her willingness to help with tasks around the department, like cleaning the break room, further highlights her remarkable contributions. Her unwavering support and dedication truly make her a cornerstone of the team."
