Southwest Health System (SHS) operates Southwest Memorial Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital, and Southwest Medical Group, which comprises clinics offering primary care and specialty services. In addition, SHS provides the latest medical and surgical technology, emergency care, a vast array of out-patient medical and wellness services. SHS is managed by Community Hospital Consulting (CHC), the management and consulting arm of Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) of Plano, Texas. “We continue to bring our expertise in hospital management and talent in critical areas of hospital operations to strengthen SHS,” said CHC’s Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations, Craig Sims. CHC Consulting specializes in managing and operating smaller, community-based hospitals across the country. The Southwest Health System board usually convenes on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The public is invited to attend the open portion of the meetings. The hospital CEO is appointed by and reports to the SHS board of directors and is employed by Community Hospital Corporation. The CEO appoints and manages the health system through members of the Senior Leadership Team, including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, and the Practice Administrator. • May 8 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
(A parent or guardian must attend the interview)
✅ Orientation: June 3 | 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
✅ Program Dates: June 3 – June 26
✅ End‑of‑Program Celebration: Last week of June (parents invited!)
🩺 What You’ll Do
• 2–3 half‑day rotations, Monday–Friday
• Hands‑on skills every Thursday, including:
– Wound care
– IV starts
– Injections
– And more!

Judi Lopez, EVS Technician in the Southwest Health System’s EVS department, is recognized as Southwest Health System’s February employee of the month!

Judi was recognized by multiple co-workers. However, a shortened version says "Judi Lopez consistently goes above and beyond to demonstrate Southwest Health System’s core values. She ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while showing initiative, professionalism, and genuine care for patients, visitors, and staff. Always reliable and prepared, Judi approaches every day with a positive attitude and a willingness to help—whether that means supporting coworkers, handling special requests, or stepping in wherever she’s needed.
Judi is a calm, steady presence in a fast-paced healthcare environment and leads by example through her teamwork, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. Her work directly supports patient safety, satisfaction, and overall hospital operations, while her kindness and professionalism strengthen our connection to the community.
