Have you ever wondered what sets the Billings Method apart from other fertility awareness methods? Let me tell you! 🤓📚

🌼 No temperature taking & no hormone tests - the Billings Method focuses solely on observing changes in cervical mucus & other discharge throughout your cycle. In order to identify that ovulation occurred, we look for a specific pattern that demonstrates the activity of estrogen and progesterone.

This simplicity makes Billings an ideal choice for shift workers, postpartum moms who are short on sleep, and anyone else who needs their charting practice to take as little mental energy as possible.

🌳 When ovulation is delayed and cervical mucus starts and stops, Billings has a well-studied protocol to identify infertile days in between ovulation attempts. By contrast, if you self-teach a symptothermal method, you have to consider yourself fertile from the first time you see/feel cervical mucus until you observe a temperature shift alongside a cervical mucus peak day. In certain situations, like postpartum, this could mean months of expected abstinence.

🌱 Related to the last point, Billings has what's called a Basic Infertile Pattern (BIP). Some people find it challenging to identify infertile days in their pre-ovulatory phase because they seem to have cervical mucus every day - never any dryness. This is not a problem in Billings - your instructor will teach you how to distinguish between and properly chart these different types of discharge based on the pattern presented.

🌿 No pre-set cervical mucus categories- in Billings, you create your own vocabulary for your observations (with the help of a teacher). This can save you from confusion if what you see on your toilet paper doesn't fit the descriptions you've learned about.

It's been a while since I've introduced myself, so if you've only recently started following me: welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

My name is Brittany, and I live in Ohio, USA with my husband of nearly 11 years and our two children. My passion is providing my clients with a more thorough understanding of their fertility & transforming them into confident, autonomous cycle charters! My specialty is coaching women who are postpartum & breastfeeding - the most challenging phase of life to learn to chart! My goal when a couple works with me is to make daily charting feel effortless & easy to keep up with. You're busy enough as a parent of a young child (or children). Your charting practice needs to be streamlined and effective.

I've been teaching couples to effectively avoid pregnancy using fertility awareness since 2020 and am certified in two methods (Billings Ovulation Method & FEMM). I teach people of all faith backgrounds, and my own spiritual beliefs are not a part of my work with clients.
