United New York Ambulance Network (UNYAN) is a professional trade association representing many proprietary ambulance providers across New York State from Long Island to Watertown. Our organization provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance services to the communities in which we serve. UNYAN's general membership is represented by over 40 commercial ambulance providers that form a network to share information on a variety of issues and initiatives. The Association views pre-hospital care as a critical component of the entire medical care system.

2025 Medicaid rates do not cover 2022 costs. The gap between cost and reimbursement continues to widen, placing our EMS and ambulance service providers in danger. Without immediate action to improve Medicaid reimbursement, New York risks losing critical ambulance capacity. Commercial providers cannot sustain year-over-year deficits when one-third of their workload is underpaid by Medicaid. This is not a matter of profit; it is about keeping ambulances available throughout the state of New York.

This is why the United NY Ambulance Network contracted with Health Management Associates, Inc. (HMA) to conduct an independent study of the costs of delivering ground ambulance services in the state and the adequacy of payment for these critical services. Download the HMA report now!

It was an honor to attend the 2025 EMS Memorial Dedication in Albany today. Five honorees were added to the 125 heros already inducted on the memorial.
