A drum circle is more than a musical gathering—it is a powerful communal experience that blends rhythm, mindfulness, and spiritual connection. Rooted in ancient traditions from cultures across Africa, the Americas, and Asia, drum circles invite participants to create rhythm together without hierarchy or performance pressure. As hands strike the drum, individual beats begin to synchronize, forming a shared pulse that often mirrors the rhythm of the human heartbeat.
This collective rhythm can produce a deeply grounding effect, helping participants release stress, quiet the mind, and become present in the moment. Many people describe drum circles as a form of moving meditation, where the repetitive patterns induce a calm, almost trance-like state that fosters emotional release and mental clarity. Spiritually, the circle itself symbolizes unity and equality—no beginning and no end—reminding participants of their connection to each other and to the natural rhythms of life.

Beyond the spiritual element, drum circles also encourage creativity, communication, and community bonding. Without the need for musical training, anyone can participate, making it an inclusive practice that celebrates expression, healing, and the simple joy of creating rhythm together. 🥁✨

Black tourmaline isn’t just cute. It’s a boundary.

Wear jewelry like a bracelet or necklace for constant personal protection. Think of it as spiritual spam-blocking for your aura.

Energy vampires, take the hint. 🧛‍♀️
Not today. Not ever.

When gossip or negative energy starts circulating around you, it can feel heavy, invasive, and draining. One powerful way to clear this energy without feeding it is by calling in the Violet Flame of St. Germain.

St. Germain is known as a spiritual teacher associated with transformation, alchemy, and energetic purification. The Violet Flame is a high-vibrational energy said to transmute negativity into clarity, peace, and neutrality, without harm or confrontation.

How to work with the Violet Flame:
• Sit or stand comfortably and take a few slow breaths.
• Visualize a violet or purple flame surrounding your body, your name, and the situation causing distress.
• Imagine the flame gently dissolving gossip, resentment, misunderstanding, and negativity.
• Set the intention that all energy is transmuted into peace, truth, and divine neutrality.

You can say quietly or aloud:
“I call in the Violet Flame of transformation to clear all negative gossip, energy, and distortion surrounding me. May all be transmuted into peace, clarity, and alignment.”

Working with amethyst can deepen this practice. Amethyst is associated with protection, spiritual clarity, and transmutation, making it a supportive crystal to hold or keep nearby while doing this visualization.

You do not need to react. You do not need to explain. You can clear the energy and keep moving forward.

A gentle cleansing tip using something you already have.

Open a window if you can.
Take a fan and intentionally fan away stagnant or negative energy from your body and your space. Move from head to toe, then toward the door or window, visualizing anything heavy being released.

Fans have long been used to shift energy, clear the air, and restore balance. Simple. Effective. Intentional.

Full moon magic and new moon magic are not the same and knowing the difference matters. 🌙✨

Full moons are for release, reflection, and clearing. This is when emotions rise, patterns come into focus, and we consciously let go of what no longer serves us. Think completion, cleansing, and energetic reset.

New moons are for intention, manifestation, and planting seeds. This is the quiet beginning. The moment to set goals, work with the subconscious, and call in what you want to grow over the coming cycle.

At Universal Healing Arts, we honor both energies and hold regular in-person full moon and new moon rituals at our center in Westchester County.

Our next gathering is a New Moon Yoga Nidra on Friday, January 16, from 7:00–9:00 PM. Together, we’ll drop into deep rest, set intentions, and create a manifestation dream sachet to support your goals as they take root.

Visit our website to learn more about upcoming lunar events and reserve your spot. Comment 🌑 or 🌕 below if you’re more of a new moon or full moon witch.
