The Meadows, an "all inclusive" assisted living community is scheduled to open in Owosso in the Spring of 2015. The new facility is 37,000 square feet and will feature 47 private rooms, 14 dedicated to memory care and 33 to assisted living. The community is being developed by Memorial Healthcare Corporation (MHC) in partnership with The Wirt-Rivette Group. It will be located at, “The Commons”, a n
ew development initiated by Memorial Healthcare and located adjacent to and behind Godwin’s Furniture. An aging local population and longer average lifespan have created an area of need for those seniors who want to remain independent yet require limited 24 hour care. The Meadows gives seniors the choice of living in a community where they enjoy their freedom without the worry of home maintenance, lawn care and snow removal issues. Others choose an assisted living community due to health issues which may require some skilled services such as medication monitoring and administration or memory care services. For those seniors who require the security of having staff available 24 hours, but do not need the full medical care services of a nursing home, there is now The Meadows in Owosso. Amenities at The Meadows include a warm, home-like community; unique all-inclusive care package; three daily nutritional meals; transportation; 24-hour care staff; full housekeeping and laundry services; and salon.
