That month FLEW BY like a witch in the sky!! 🧹🌙 Potions In Motion had a BOO-tiful month full of costumes and cocktails!

We kicked things off with a fantastic party hosted by Lady Luck Vintage Market (formerly 1972) in downtown Corvallis, then mixed in some parties with dear friends, spooky charcuterie boards, group costumes (we were all members of SpongeBob & Bikini Bottom!💛🍍), craft cocktails, bubbling dry ice, and even a homage to a book character ta boot!

Feeling so grateful for all the fun & festivities ~ every event was pure magic. 👻✨

Welcome to sniffle season~ 😷

With school in full swing, hunting season well underway, temperatures dropping, and mornings starting with frost-covered windshields..... this is the perfect time to make some medicine!!

It's simple to make, keeps well, and people take a spoonful (or stir into warm water/tea) when they feel run-down.

🧄🍋 Garlic Honey Lemon Immune Elixir 🍯🫚

This is an old-school kitchen remedy that feels like sunshine in a jar! When that scratchy throat or sniffle starts creeping in, grab a spoonful and let nature do its thing.

How to Make:
◇ Slice 1 organic lemon
◇ Smash 8-10 garlic cloves
◇ Add to a clean iar & cover with raw honey
◇ Let it infuse for 3+ days in the fridge

💛 Take a spoonful as needed
💛 Stir into warm
water or tea for a soothing
sip
Keeps 1-2 months in the fridge!

Optional: add fresh ginger slices, cayenne, or any other pepper preference. 🌶

Today I’m pausing in gratitude for the original stewards of this land ~ the Indigenous peoples who have tended, protected, and loved these forests, rivers, and mountains long before any of us called Oregon home.

In quiet honor, I’m sharing a small offering from the land itself 🌄 A simple Pacific Northwest mocktail made with huckleberries, Douglas fir tips, local honey, lemon and sparkling water.

Enjoy this refreshing non-alcohol mocktail while honoring the people who walked this land long before us, and the history it holds.🍂 🪶🧡 🌎

Ingredients:

•½ cup fresh salal berries, or frozen huckleberries (or substitute blueberries if huckleberries aren’t available)
•1 small sprig Douglas fir needles (or substitute rosemary or pine needles from an edible-safe species)
•1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
•Juice of ½ lemon
•Sparkling water or soda water

To Make:

•In a small saucepan, gently simmer the huckleberries, Douglas fir needles, and honey (or maple syrup) in ½ cup water for about 5 minutes.
Let it cool, then strain out the solids.

Pour about 2 tablespoons of this syrup into a glass over ice.

Add the lemon juice and top with sparkling water.
Stir lightly and garnish with a small fir or rosemary sprig and a few berries.

Reflect with respect for those who have long known this land and its gifts. 🌱🌲🦋

Hello autumn, and hello internet~
it’s me, Nicole G. How have you been? 🍂

This past year has been a TRIP!
About a year ago, I packed up my cozy college-town life and moved to Portland. I decided to dip my toes into corporate America via Nike, while still running my mobile bartending business and taking on art commissions.

Some days, it felt like herding cats, other days like a well-oiled machine. But eventually, burnout snuck up on me. I kept doing the events, but I went quiet online...a modern-day faux pas for any small business owner.
Now, I’m back in the saddle.
Balancing the hats I wear, recharging my creative energy, and ready to share again.

I’m endlessly grateful for the word-of-mouth love and glowing reviews from clients who’ve kept me going. This year, I’m leaning into growth: more extraordinary events, crisp creativity, and new ways to dance in this entrepreneurial world.

When you enjoy something spectacular like a play, a decadent dinner, a hand-made gift... Do you also ponder the process it took to achieve such an outcome?
I do💗
In my mobile bartending business, there are a LOT of steps that go into curating each magical event.

For example~
I receive an email or call from a client.
Upon returning their message, I ask them a selection of questions to help me better understand their event.
Next, I take all of the data I have received from them, and I begin the formula of figuring drink quantities needed, and the labor required to pull it off, etc.
Then the fun begins, I:
•Lock in the deposit and contract
• Hire a 2nd bartender for that event (usually on a weekend, so the more advanced notice the better.)
• Rent anything needed for the event (and pick it up)
• Travel to storage unit to gather supplies.
• Choose supplies that coordinate with the event's theme
• Take supplies home and lay it all out (make that list and check it thrice!)
• Re-pack said supplies into truck or van
• Grocery shop + ice
• Buy flowers to match the vibe
• Pick out an outfit to also match the vibe
• Load it all up
• Travel (sometimes with my horse trailer)
• Unload equipment and set up (often 3 hours)
• Serve drinks (mocktails too) (service usually 3-7 hours.)
• Clean & pack up (approximately 2 hours)
• Travel back (1-6 hours)
• Unload equipment & clean it (3+ hours)
• Re-load equipment
• Take it back to the storage unit
• Return rentals
• Make a post about event
• Document all expenses for business/ taxes
• Marketing/ accounting/ working/ ALL...OF...IT

Unless you've experienced my craft, you *MIGHT just think I pour beer into a red solo cup and call it a wrap?
On the contrary ~ I am a luxury experience. I take the time, energy & care to create an extraordinary event for you and your guests 💗 I'm damn proud of it too!

How ya like THEM apples?
Once again, 2 Towns Ciderhouse has made some new flavors, ready for your refrigerator or cooler!

As always, it was a blast to decorate my bar space to fit the theme of the evening. Music, cider, dancing, and a very special vintage wine crafted by the folks at Treos; all helped the night close with a bit of magic & appreciation for all the hard work put in throughout the year.

During their EPIC spring fling party, my favorite flavor was from their latest Cellar Series Edition:
Red Plum, Cherry, & Amburana Wood Imperial.

This year, St. Patrick's Day was a real treat. 🍀
Back in February, a familiar name popped up in my emails....
You see, back in Feb 2020, word-of-mouth made its way up to Portland about my blossoming business. A doctor requested to hire me for his annual St. Paddy's bash. Unfortunately, by the time his party came, so did week one of the global pandemic.

Fast forward to February 2024, I got an email from said doctor, inquiring if my business survived or flopped? I happily told him, "I'M STILL A-FLOAT!"

He is from Ireland & damn proud of it!💚 The art and family history is proudly decorated across the walls in their home. He has the most IMPRESSIVE home bar I've ever seen!🤯 Be it scotch, bourbon, whiskey, cognac, mead, Irish imports, YOU NAME IT....it was there. It was absolutely stunning.

I was asked to show up and make whatever drinks his guests requested. It caused me to create some of my favorite craft cocktails and dig around in my brain's vault for some libations from times past. It was challenging and so much fun! His GIANT selection gave me free reign to create anything under the sun.

I'm grateful for this career path, the creativity that surrounds me, the amazing people I meet, and of course.....when clients have pets on the scene! 🐾

JUST DID IT!

Happy Holidays! 🎇🎉
It was my honor to be hired back to help some of the sweetest folks at Nike celebrate their private holiday soiree! I brought everything needed to make this party one for the books! A bartop, flowers, festive decor, hot chocolate station, cocktail smoker, fresh fruit, and enough sparkling tinsel to lure a fish onto dry land.

In a matter of hours, I transformed this back patio into the North Pole. The host had a fire pit roaring and many heaters strewn about to keep us all toasty as we watched the game on the big screen.

This is an annual event I look forward to, in addition to the ab burn the next day after laughing all night! 🤣

Tis The Season! 🎄
Man, am I one lucky gal?!!
One of my favorite clients, Julie, had hired me once again to help her friends & family rock the house! Her & her husband sure know how to throw a party! As always, we discuss what they'd like served, and I oblige. For this party, I served: smoked old fashioneds, whiskey sours, vodka cranberry spritzers, peppermint hot chocolates, hot buttered rum, and some mocktails for the non-drinkers

I was tucked in the corner like a mischievous Elf On The Shelf and watched the epic dance party go down in the living room. Julie, in her GORGEOUS glittering gown, always made sure I had a snack or treat... Mom duty never stops. ❤️

It warms my soul to be able to do what I love and help people celebrate!
