📣 We’re excited to share big news: Samaritan Health Services is affiliating with MultiCare Health System, a highly respected, mission-driven organization based in Washington, serving the Pacific Northwest. Samaritan will remain locally governed while gaining new resources to expand access, modernize facilities and strengthen health care across our region. This marks MultiCare’s first health system affiliation in Oregon.

When a patient’s MRI was denied (twice) Lisa didn’t give up. She made calls to the insurance company, asked questions and kept pushing until she got the approval that made a difference in that patient’s care. Her persistence and compassion show just how much she cares about doing what’s right for our patients. 💙

This month, Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital is celebrating two incredible Rising Stars who made a positive impact on the lives of their patients.💙

🌟 Kate Lane, PA-C, supported her patient through a difficult diagnosis and series of treatment challenges. Her persistence and compassion helped the patient stay hopeful and find a path forward with confidence.

🌟 Patsy Yelsa, physical therapist, helped turn a scary moment into a hopeful journey for a young family. Her encouragement and positivity helped a little girl thrive, and gave her parents the support they didn’t know they needed.

A patient access specialist at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital answered a call for help from a colleague at the nearby Newport hospital – a patient needed a diagnostic test very soon but there were no openings available at either hospital. ☎️ 🏥

Viewing the obstacles as challenges, Trena Sylvia was able to find a solution so the patient could get the needed test and proceed with a surgery as scheduled. For this reason, Sylvia was selected as Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital’s Rising Star for September. ⭐⭐⭐

Bravo to you, Trena, for exemplifying Samaritan PRIDE: passion, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence. 🏆 ❤️

Through his years with Samaritan, Clinic Operations Manager Ben Jansen has presided over several employee of the month presentations. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Earlier this month, Ben was tricked and surprised when he learned that the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital clinic-based Rising Star of the month was … him! 😄

A small crowd of selection committee members and hospital executives gathered in a back hallway at Samaritan Lincoln City Medical Center while Jansen went to fetch the employee he believed was being honored. When his own name was announced as the award recipient, Ben was obviously surprised and pleased – although he would have trimmed his beard better if he had known he was the one being honored, he joked.
