Today we honor women around the world living with bleeding disorders — many of whom have long been underrecognized and underdiagnosed.

For far too long, there has been a myth that bleeding disorders only affect men. In reality, women who carry the hemophilia gene can also experience serious bleeding symptoms, including:

🩸 Heavy menstrual bleeding
🩸 Unexplained bruising
🩸 Frequent nosebleeds
🩸 Joint or muscle bleeds

It’s time to recognize women, listen to women, and ensure they receive the care they deserve.

🩸 Hemophilia A vs. Hemophilia B — What’s the Difference?

Both are rare genetic bleeding disorders, but they involve different clotting factors.

🔹 Hemophilia A → Factor VIII deficiency
🔸 Hemophilia B → Factor IX deficiency

Key facts:
• Hemophilia A makes up 80–85% of cases
• A affects about 1 in 5,000 male births
• B affects about 1 in 30,000

Both can cause:
🩸 spontaneous bleeding
🩸 easy bruising
🩸 joint or muscle bleeds

💉 Treatment replaces the missing clotting factor, and early diagnosis makes a huge difference.

Do you have Hem A or B? Tell us in the comments.

🩸 You Can’t Always See a Bleeding Disorder

Someone may look perfectly healthy while managing:

• Internal bleeding
• Joint damage
• Chronic pain
• Regular treatments

Bleeding disorders are often invisible, but the challenges people face every day are very real.

Invisible conditions deserve visible awareness.

That’s why Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month matters. 💙
