During pregnancy, ensuring adequate intake of vitamin B9—commonly known as folate—is essential for your baby’s healthy development, especially during preconception and the first trimester. But not all forms of this vital nutrient are created equal. It’s critical to distinguish between folate...

Welcome baby Brooks!

He is the second baby for Kara and Garrett and was born at the birth center on August 1st.

He weighed in at 7lb, 8oz.

Kara was a client with the birth center before we (MidValley Birthing) took over running it.

We love that not only did she hang in there with us through the changes, but hers' was the first birth we did that was in network with her insurance!

Thank you for letting us serve your family!

Birth attended by Julia, Israel, and Liz.

Having your older children at your birth can be a special experience for them, but I do believe it takes a little preparation! As a mom, this is what I've done to prepare my kids for home and hospital births.

▫️ Be open about how a baby is born and use anatomical terms.

▫️ Watch appropriate YouTube vlogs with birth experiences you're hoping for.

▫️ Share about things that could happen and explain how they will be dealt with (this is a great time for questions).

▫️ Let your kids tag along to appointments.

▫️ Allow for open dialog for questions.

▫️ Have a designated helper (grandparent, friend, doula) for siblings.

I know this isn't something everyone will do, but it has always been a great experience for my children and several others I've talked with about it. I want to know, did your older children to attend the birth of their sibling or would you let your children attend their siblings birth?

Welcome baby Oliver!

He is the fourth baby for Elli and Brandon and was born at the birth center on September 1st.

He weighed in at 9lb, 8oz.

Elli transferred into our care in the last month of pregnancy after talking with her doula about what she wanted out of her care (thanks Heidi!) and we were so glad to have the chance to get to know her beautiful family.

Birth attended by Liz, Hannah, and Doula Heidi.

Welcome baby Elena!

She is the third kiddo for Alicia and Frank, and was born at the birth center on September 2nd.

She weighed in at 7lb, 11oz.

This was the third birth we've gotten to do for their family, and we were all so happy to get to be asked to serve Alicia again.

Birth attended by Julia, Liz, and Bailey, with Julia's daughter Reagan in the waiting room, since we all rushed there when it sounded like Alicia was already in transition and on her way in.

When Alicia found out she was playing out there (after the very quick birth), she invited Reagan in to meet baby Elena) ❤️

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month — a time to hold space for the many families who have experienced loss.

As a community, we honor the babies who are forever loved and the parents who carry their memory every day. You are not alone.

Together, we remember. Together, we hold space.

We frequently get calls from potential clients asking if we take OHP, or IHN, or Pacific Source community solutions.

Sometimes the caller is a little hesitant, like they have been told that other places don't want to take Medicaid.

To which we respond, "OHP is our favorite!! You have no idea! It is so easy to bill. It pays for homebirth, Birth Center Birth, a childbirth class, your Doula, a breast pump. Basically anything we think you need."

So if you have Oregon health plan/Medicaid, just know that we would love to see you.

The best office meetings are the ones where Julia makes us brunch!

Worked on CABC (Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers) paperwork, and Julia fed us, which made it... tolerable.

I mean, we love paperwork.
