Due to the sudden and tragic loss of my son, Jakeb (due to seizure) I will be taking a 6-month sabbatical to process and re-create myself. My grief is overwhelming as I had a most special child and we had an equally special bond. I will be a gypsy for some months to take time to discover as much as I can about this beautiful being that I did not know and rediscover what I did know through pictures, writing, music, movies and food.

My immediate plans are to collapse my house into storage and travel for a few months.

Jakeb’s local service was January 21st, after which I left on a road trip with Jennifer to New York for a time to stay with her family.

In June, Jakeb’s family will honor him by celebrating his life on the top of Strawberry Mountain Wilderness in the Malheur National Forst. I am organizing this. Departure is June 9th, 2023. My heart is broken but also filled with the utmost joy that I was his closest person, his family, his friend and he will always remain my greatest teacher. Part of me doesn’t want to take another step and part of me is eager to see what more this beautiful man has to teach me. My love to Jakeb forever.
