This means that there is, or has recently been, at least one person with the measles virus within the Corvallis-Lewisburg area.

Currently, no confirmed measles cases have been reported in Benton County.

Our public health officials are acting swiftly with our partners to monitor and contain the spread.

The West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA) endorses the 2026 American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule, as do professional medical and health organizations representing more than 1 million health care providers, reflecting a broad consensus on the safety and benefits of the recommended immunizations.

The WCHA believes the AAP Immunization Schedule should continue to serve as the foundation for the immunizations routinely recommended by healthcare providers and guide conversations between providers and families.

Sub-freezing temperatures continue throughout Benton County. This is especially dangerous for those without access to safe, adequate shelter.

When specific weather conditions are met, we work with our partners to provide overnight emergency sheltering services for unhoused community members who do not have shelter.

This emergency service has been active since earlier this week and will continue for as long as these conditions are met.

Daytime warming centers continue to be open to the public.

Infants are especially vulnerable to hepatitis B infection and lifelong hepatitis b illness, which can cause severe liver disease.

The hepatitis B vaccine is given to newborns at birth because it protects them from becoming infected with hepatitis B during delivery and in the weeks after birth. Delaying the first dose will lead to more children and adults developing preventable liver disease and liver cancer.
