Last week, our Admissions Coordinators from Altercare Zanesville, Altercare Coshocton, Altercare Somerset, and Altercare Thornville joined forces at the Muskingum County Senior Veteran’s Health Fair. Ariel, Rebecca, and Melissa shared resources and valuable information about Aftercare’s services. We are thrilled to have been a part of this event and have had the opportunity to speak with member of our communities.

Last weekend, we hosted our Annual Fall Festival & Car Show! Families enjoyed pumpkin painting, temporary tattoos, visits with Mickey and Minnie, animals from the Ridgewood FFA, and a bounce house generously provided by Crossroads Baptist Church.

Local vendors added to the festivities with handmade goods, including baked treats, crochet items, and resin art. A special thank you goes to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office for their K9 demonstration with Rip. We’re also grateful to our CEO, Jerry Schroer, for donating the food, which was prepared by our kitchen staff, and to the Moose Lodge of Coshocton for donating drinks. All food and beverages were available by donation, with proceeds supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.

The raffle, supported by over 50 local businesses, along with 50/50 ticket sales, was a big hit. Meanwhile, the Car Show featured classic rides from the 1950s through the 2000s, with trophies awarded by decade as well as for Resident’s Choice, Staff Choice, Administrator’s Choice, and the Barringer’s Craftsman Award.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we raised $1,823 for the Alzheimer’s Association. We are so thankful to everyone who came out, and we can’t wait to see you again next year! 💜

This week, we celebrated National Environmental Services Week! ⭐️

As a token of our appreciation, our dedicated housekeeping and laundry staff were each gifted a beautiful mum. Our housekeeping staff plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, infection control, and creating a dignified environment for our residents. A big thank you to these ladies for their hard work, commitment, and respect that they show our residents every day. We’re grateful to have all of you on our Altercare team! 💙

On Friday, our residents played Corn hole as one of their daily activities. Corn hole is one of their favorite activities, and they were able to play outside and enjoy the beautiful weather before summer is over.

Last Friday, we embraced National Relaxation Day with a much-needed spa day! Our residents enjoyed soothing hand and foot soaks, calming mists, refreshing masks, tea, and soft music surrounded by the glow of tea lights. Meanwhile, our staff received face and eye masks to take home for a little self-care of their own. It was the perfect reminder to pause, recharge, and prioritize both mental and physical well-being.

Our residents love when we have animals come in to visit! Last week, our therapy manager, Aimee, brought in her lamb, Spot. This adorable baby brightened everyone’s day and we hope to have Spot visit again soon.
