On Friday at the Coshocton County Fair, children of all abilities came together to share their love of animals!

Ag for All paired youth with developmental disabilities alongside their peers to present a variety of farm animals. Together, they laughed, learned, and celebrated the joy of teamwork, kindness, and community spirit.

Moments like these remind us that fairs aren’t just about ribbons—they’re about building friendships, creating opportunities, and making sure everyone has a chance to shine.

EDIT!! Marybeth Slater and Slater Family Farm Outreach will be at the trunk and treat, too!!!

Thank you to everyone who came to our meeting last night and welcome to our new family! (I don't share names until I've been given permission, but you are welcome to introduce yourself in the comments 😊)

Our next event is our trunk and treat. The flyer is attached - please share it! This year, we will have a couple people directing people where to park so we can spread out more and include everyone in our circle. We're all about inclusion, ya know! 😊

We decided last night to use the last of our donation from CES for another sensory movie. I'll be contacting Shelby Theatres soon, but Zootopia 2 seemed to be a popular choice. That won't be till late Nov/early Dec.

And finally!! Santa contacted me last week and is very excited to come and see us again! He is coming on Wednesday, Dec 3rd from 6-7. This year, our sensory Santa will be at the M Event Centre on CR - 10. We will be having cookies and juice, a craft and a photographer. 🎄

A ladies event or supper will be planned soon! Any suggestions for what you would like to do???

As Direct Support Professional Appreciation Month is coming to a close, we wanted to reflect back to last month for our Provider Appreciation Luncheon in the Community Room. We had a full house of Independent Providers, Agencies, Families, Individuals Supported, our staff, Ann Weisent from Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Pete Moore from Ohio Provider Resource Association to help us honor and celebrate the amazing DSP's we have right here in Coshocton County. Feel free to check out our blog post with more photos: https://www.coshdd.org/stories/2025/8/27/dsp-appreciation-luncheon-2025

Today we are honored to announce our 2025 Lasting Legacy Award Winner for DSP Appreciation: Cordell Brown of Echoing Hills! His nominator said, "In 1965, he received a God-given vision on his family’s farm, and in 1967, that farm would become the start of Echoing Hills. During this period, individuals with disabilities were considered ineducable and either thrown into institutions or parents took full responsibility, having no community support.
What started with a vision about a summer camp became a multimillion-dollar ministry that has been serving people with developmental disabilities for over 50 years. This includes giving individuals travel opportunities and safe places to live. Individuals have a chance to explore new places through the Camp Echoing Hills travel program or daily outings offered through our residential programs. Immediate Care Facilities and waiver homes foster independence and embrace diversity.
Regardless of roadblocks or hardship, Cordell displayed perseverance and commitment towards impacting the lives of people with disabilities. His vision and mission created long-lasting monumental change within the community. Generations have reaped the benefits provided by the ministry of Echoing Hills.”
