Most airlines allow cremated remains on board with your carry-on or checked baggage, but the container holding your loved ones remains must go through the x-ray machine.

In addition, to transport remains on an airplane you must provide a death certificate and or a cremation permit. It is also very important that you ask your airline if there are any additional requirements to bring your loved ones cremated remains with you.
