This day, also known as Juneteenth National Independence Day, marks the end of slavery in the U.S!
It was the day when Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to inform over 250,000 enslaved African Americans of their freedom, nearly two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
As we reflect on this pivotal moment in history, remember that lasting recovery and equality are within reach. Celebrate Juneteenth with us and join the movement towards equality and inclusivity.
