AMW Myofunctional Therapy

AMW Myofunctional Therapy Myofunctional Therapy is a function-based therapy program that targets proper nasal breathing, tongue position, chewing, and swallowing.

With improper myofunctional habits, these muscle imbalances can affect the growth and development of the airway. What is Myofunctional Therapy? A neurologic re-education or re-patterning therapy for Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) using specific therapeutic techniques to assist in proper function, growth, development, and esthetics. Correcting these habits has tremendous benefits for the present and future.

What if better sleep wasn’t a dream — but a skill you could retrain?

So many adults live with poor sleep, constant fatigue, or have difficulty using a CPAP — but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

This patient came to us unable to tolerate their CPAP machine and feeling discouraged after years of restless nights. Through myofunctional therapy, they’re now sleeping more soundly and able to comfortably use their CPAP — finally waking up alert, rested, and energized.

When your muscles, tongue, and airway work together the way they’re meant to, everything changes — your sleep, your energy, your focus, your life. 💙

Better sleep isn’t just a dream — it’s something you can retrain your body to do.

We had such an inspiring day at Dr. Ting’s Maxillary Skeletal Expansion Practical Course — learning how airway-focused dentistry brings together specialists from across the field to help patients breathe, grow, and thrive. 💙

Her tongue has found its home!

It’s not just adults who can look like they have a double chin — kids can too! But often, it’s not fat — it’s the tongue resting low in the mouth.

When the tongue learns to rest up in its home — gently suctioned to the roof of the mouth (not just the tip, but the middle and sides too) — everything begins to change:
💫 The jaw lifts
💫 The face opens and balances
💫 Breathing improves
💫 Posture strengthens

You can see it here — her tongue has found its home, and her face is finding its balance. 💙

Small muscle habits → big growth changes.

Could your tongue muscles be the reason for that double chin?

Your tongue’s resting position affects not just your facial definition — but also your breathing, sleep, and muscle balance.

When the tongue rests low in the mouth, it actually pushes down on the muscles under your chin, causing them to relax and lose support. When the tongue rests high — gently suctioned to the roof of your mouth — all those muscles align and lift naturally.

It’s all connected. 💫

Chewing = Growth + Strength + Function 💪

Chewing isn’t just for kids — it’s essential for everyone! Each bite builds strong jaws, tones facial muscles, and supports a healthy airway.

For little ones, it shapes growth. For adults, it maintains function and balance.

Every chew counts — at every age! 🥦

Tongue ties aren’t just about speech ❌

They can affect (but are not limited to):
- Oral Growth & Development
- Breathing & Airway
- Posture & Muscle Function
- Chewing & Swallowing
- Sleep Quality

Even adults can still be impacted if tongue ties are left untreated. 💡
We work with many adults who need tongue tie revision and therapy to restore proper function — it’s never too late to address this issue.

The earlier we recognize tongue ties, the sooner we can support lifelong health.
