Please join us for our Grief Support group at the Heavenly Home starting on August 13th with Michelle Montgomery, certified grief educator. This Fourth of July, the Heavenly Home was filled with red, white, and blue—and the spirit of remembrance.

With the help of volunteer Lisa Moncur, who honors both her mother-in-law and her son, Sgt. Moncur, our home became a place of reflection, joy, and gratitude.

Special thanks to Bruce Lazenby, our grill master and veteran, and the families who joined us to celebrate and remember.

Together, we also participated in Preserving Dignity—a day of giving to support older adults with compassion and care.

On July 9, 2025, 7 leading nonprofit organizations came together to raise $104,130 in support of OC’s older adults in need—and because of YOU, $45,670 of that was raised for the Heavenly Home!

Your generosity helps us provide 24/7 compassionate care for terminally ill individuals who have nowhere else to go. With your support, we’re able to preserve dignity, offer peace, and bring love to every final chapter.

At Heavenly Home, hospice isn’t just about end-of-life care — it’s about creating meaningful moments in a peaceful, loving space.

When we welcomed Janet, a 65-year-old hospice patient, she found her sanctuary in our garden. Each day, her family and our staff gently wheel her bed beneath the gazebo, where she’s surrounded by sunshine, birdsong, and the people who love her most. 🌿☀️

This is what makes Heavenly Home different — personalized care, a comforting environment, and a deep commitment to dignity and connection in life’s final chapter.

🌿 Like the seasons, life is always changing.
We move through moments of joy, sorrow, love, and reflection—each one weaving into a beautiful tapestry of purpose and grace.

This month, we celebrated, we honored, and we transitioned.

✨ Our 3rd Annual Dolled Up Event was a heartfelt success, raising nearly $50,000 to support our mission at the Heavenly Home.

🏡 We also made a meaningful move—officially relocating our office from Costa Mesa to the Heavenly Home, stewarding resources so more goes directly to those we serve.

💔 And in the most sacred of moments, we hosted our first memorial service in the Heavenly Home’s backyard—for John Hornburg, our beloved Hospice Advisory Council member and construction manager who helped bring the home to life. We celebrated his final chapter under the very gazebo he built. Full circle. Beautiful. Sacred.

At Southern California Hospice Foundation, we believe in doing death differently—with dignity, compassion, and deep love. Every moment matters, right up to the very last.
