Melanie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and over 5 years of experience at Journeys Counseling.⁠

She’s trained in EMDR and draws from multiple approaches—Client-Centered, Psychodynamic, and Gestalt—to meet her clients where they are. Her experience includes working with trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship challenges, substance use, and more.⁠

With over 16 years of youth ministry experience and a past career in the TV and music industries, Melanie brings a unique blend of insight, empathy, and creativity to her work.⁠

When emotions feel overwhelming, try this:⁠

👉 “I feel ______ because ______.”⁠

Naming your emotion is the first step toward managing it.⁠
It gives your brain clarity—and your body a chance to breathe.⁠

Even a simple:⁠
“I feel anxious because I have too much on my plate,”⁠
