We are excited to welcome back special, Music, guests Ted and Jeryl!!!

When Jeryl and Ted met they felt an instant click. They soon discovered they lived on the same street, were both in recovery, and were lifelong musicians. The first time they played together, improvisation took over. Years later, they still never play a song the same way twice. Their partnership thrives on trust, surprise, deep listening, joy, always.

Doors open at 6:50 PM at The Crossing in Costa Mesa!

Join us this Friday at Lifelines as we welcome special guest speaker Pastor Jim Gaffney!

Pastor Jim Gaffney was ordained in 1988 as a Pastor focused on Care & Shepherding broken individuals in Melbourne, Florida by his 2 mentors; Jamie Buckingham & Mickey Evans. Jamie authored  close to 50 books & Mickey fathered Dunklin Memorial Camp in Okeechobee, FL; a Christ-centered Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation 1 year facility! Jim spent 2 years w/ Mickey in Ministry Training focused on “Speaking the Truth in Love!”

Both of these mentors had poured into Jim from their life, experience & hope how to Shepherd & Change lives! Jim has never been a preacher, rather relying on telling stories that touch people’s hearts! In 1992 after Jamie’s untimely death from Cancer he left FL to come to SoCal as the first Recovery Pastor at Mariners Church where he faithfully served for 17 years!

Jim then moved back for a period to NYC area, his hometown to pursue graduate school where he earned his Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy as well as his certification in Drug & Alcohol Counseling.

Jim’s original training was in Pharmacy in 1979 as he became a Registered Pharmacist. He celebrates every July 15th his total Sobriety from drugs, alcohol and a brutal cigarette addiction! This coming July will be his 47th sobriety birthday!

He is now fully retired from all 3 successful careers, yet is a weekly volunteer at LifeLines & facilitates a Coed LifeRecovery support group!

7PM at The Crossing in Costa Mesa— all are welcome to attend this open meeting.

Your brain doesn’t need motivation… it needs momentum.

On Mondays, most people wait to feel ready before they act.
But neuroscience shows the opposite is true:

👉 Action creates motivation — not the other way around.

When you take even a small step:
• Your brain releases dopamine (motivation chemical)
• You build neural pathways for progress
• You shift from overwhelm → control

This is called the “activation effect.”

From a positive psychology perspective:
Small wins build self-efficacy — the belief that “I can do this.”

So instead of asking:
❌ “Do I feel motivated?”

Ask:
✅ “What’s one small win I can create right now?”

Start small. Start now. Momentum will meet you there.
