BreakAway Health Corporation is a comprehensive behavioral health agency founded in 1983 in Costa Mesa, California. Originally established as an adult DUI program, BreakAway Health became state-licensed in 1984 as an adolescent intensive outpatient program. Today, we remain as one of the oldest and most respected Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatients in Southern California. Our treatment programs are built on strong family system values and grounded in evidence based therapeutic models proven to be effective in treating substance use and behavioral health disorders. Drawing from decades of professional experience, as well as lived experience in recovery, we have developed a truly unmatched level of care. At BreakAway Health, we believe healing extends beyond the individual to the entire family. Addiction impacts every relationship it touches, often leaving lasting wounds. Get to know us💙

Breakaway Health has been a family-led treatment center serving the community since 1983. Previously led by our father and grandmother, the center was built on compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to helping people heal.

After our father’s passing, our family stepped forward to continue the legacy they created. Today, a mother, daughter, and son lead the center together, honoring the values it was founded on while continuing to grow and evolve its mission.

At Breakaway Health, recovery is more than a service. It is a mission rooted in compassion, connection, and a genuine commitment to supporting every person who walks through our doors.

Nikki was a client at Breakaway back in the day, and has now been working at Breakaway for 5 and a half years.

Nikki loves helping others and giving people the voice they deserve.

In her free time, Nikki loves hanging out with her pug, getting Vietnamese coffee, and going vintage thrift shopping.

She makes some of the most insane sourdough, and is a sucker for a good RomCom.

This week at Breakaway Health , we held a powerful plate-smashing session to help our clients let go of what no longer serves them. 🥂💥

Each person wrote down something they wanted to release in 2026—old fears, self-doubt, limiting beliefs—and then we smashed the plates together, symbolically breaking free from the past and making space for new growth.

It was loud, messy, and incredibly freeing! Sometimes, letting go needs a little extra force. 💪💫
