Endometriosis symptoms — especially when there are no clear answers — often feel confusing, distressing, and frustrating.

If you suspect you have endo, we want you to know that you are not alone.

You have probably heard that endo is only diagnosable by surgery. While this is true, it can definitely add to the overwhelm. Our suggestion before (and after) surgery is to visit a pelvic floor physical therapist who specializes in endometriosis.

In the right environment, pelvic floor therapy can be hugely beneficial. Pelvic PT supports your mind, body, and nervous system through the symptoms; educating you about endometriosis and pain management, coaching you through your appointments, and providing manual therapy to support the body and prepare for excision.

We have seen firsthand how our work & collaboration with surgeons positively impacts excision outcomes. Whether or not you choose excision surgery, our work helps you manage symptoms, reduce pain, and have a supportive care team when flares crop up.

So if you wonder about endo, feel free to give us a call. Our endo experts are here to support you. 🤍🤍 (949) 612-7695

(Yes, I am gesturing with Palo Santo)

There are two types of dyspareunia (pain with s*x): superficial pain, meaning close to the skin, and deep pain.

You can have one or both; both need different approaches as different muscles, nerves, and hormonal or systemic factors can be involved. No one’s experience with dyspareunia is the same as someone else’s, which is why Pelvic Floor PT is one of the first things we’d recommend if you experience unwanted painful in*******se

Pain with s*x is a common experience, and one reason is Vaginismus: an inability to put anything into the vaginal canal.

If this is you, you’re not alone, and you’re not crazy! Vaginismus is a mind-body condition that truly illustrates the connection our mind has to our body, nervous system, and muscles. When the nervous system anticipates pain, the muscles respond quickly to guard the vaginal canal.

This mind-body communication can be retrained to help your body relearn safety, relaxation, and pleasure; and, if you desire, to help you use a tampon or diva cup again. Vaginismus is treatable, and we’re here to help!

What is the difference between Pelvic Health and the Pelvic Floor?

let’s break it down 💃

The Pelvic Floor is a group of muscles at the bottom of the pelvis. These muscles form a hammock that supports the pelvic organs and respond to our breath, movement, in*******se, posture, and of course, peeing and pooping. They are vital muscles for overall pelvic health.

Pelvic Health refers to everything within the abdominopelvic cavity, from below your ribs all the way down to the pelvic floor.

This entire area can impact what’s happening in your pelvic region — yes, that means all of those organs, muscles, fascia and nerves — and vice versa, your pelvic region can impact the function of the abdominopelvic cavity. Everything is connected!

Pelvic Floor therapists who take the whole of your pelvic health into consideration can go lengths for your long-term healing.
