For a lot of premenopausal women, this kind of on-and-off joint stiffness is super common — and hormones are usually to blame. Estrogen (our joint-friendly hormone) goes up and down throughout the month, and when it drops, some women feel more achy or stiff, especially in the mornings or after resting.

It can also be a sign that perimenopause is slowly creeping in (even if you’re still getting your period). Your hormones start to shift, and your joints can definitely feel it.
