Last week we had a phenomenal Emergency Medical - Control the Bleed class! Everyone had the opportunity to practice a variety of medical gear on arterial bleed simulators including tourniquets, packing gauze, and compression bandages. They also got to try applying a chest seal on a sucking-chest-wound simulator.

Our next class is scheduled for August 30th.

So...I make simulators for my Emergency Medical - Control the Bleed classes out of mannequins, but I use modified pool noodles for the limbs. That means I'm stuck with a bunch of leftover "body parts" that don't fit in a garbage bag without being cut down.
..I'm sorry for the poor landfill worker who is about to have a panic attack!

Happy Juneteenth everyone! On this day in 1865 the Emancipation Proclamation was enforced at the last remnant of slavery in the US.

The first published African American Phillis Wheatley said it best (she was emancipated back in 1773): “In every human Breast, God has implanted a Principle, which we call Love of Freedom; It is impatient of Oppression, and pants for Deliverance; and . . . the same Principle lives in us.”

Another shooting on a MN school campus Friday. Thank God for the quick actions of a father helping to control the bleed and that everyone is alive!

Would you know what to do either during or in the aftermath of a shooting? Consider taking one of our Emergency Medical - Control the Bleed classes and learn to apply a tourniquet/gauze/wound-packing/direct-pressure using our highly-effective simulators.

Two men, a 19-year-old and a 49-year-old, were taken to the hospital after the shooting around 8:20 p.m. Both were said to be in stable condition on Saturday, according to a University of Minnesota (UMN) spokesperson.

It is Stop-the-Bleed month! Come take our 2-hour hands-on Emergency Medical - Control the Bleed class on May 24th where you'll learn how to apply a tourniquet, pack gauze, and apply chest seals. Includes arterial bleed feedback simulators to gauge your skill!

Exciting news! It is now legal in Minnesota for 18 - 20 year-olds to obtain their MN Permit to Carry for a handgun. This long court battle has now concluded at the Supreme Court level and Cross Caliber Training has several upcoming Permit to Carry classes now open for anyone 18 or older (17 with parent/guardian permission). These classes satisfy the training requirement per MSS 624.714, Subd. 2a.

Classes right now are only $89 which covers all expenses (range fee, firearm rental, ammo, and eye/ear protection). Next class is scheduled for Saturday May 24th. For all class dates and details, see our events page!
