Yesterday we were pretty bummed….we were supposed to go fishing at Camp Wood. Thank goodness for all the rain but it was just too muddy for us to be out there. We WILL be planning another fishing trip in the future.

We are all “go with the flow” kind of people so we took a trip to the Emporia Zoo instead of fishing. It was a beautiful day!! We got to see some pretty amazing creatures and got our excercise in for the day! We even got to sit down at the zoo and have a little group picnic.

Thank you to our CNA’s, Chelsea, Dallas and Jenni as well as our PTA, Sierra for coming along!

Our bulletin board has needed quite the face lift. Amy Budke and her Ag class will be coming every month to spruce it up. Thank you so much Amy and her great group of kids!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Look for the fun we will be having for a fun Chiefs Day on Sunday!

National Wildlife Day!!!

We’ve had an eventful day at CCCR. This morning we made homemade bird feeders. We used pine cones, peanut butter and bird seed.

This afternoon, Kelly from Emporia Zoo visited and brought 2 ferrets. They were the absolute sweetest! The residents loved watching the ferrets play in their enclosure and petting them. We’ve had the best day!!

We had some very special visitors from CCES today. Thank you to Mrs. Carmichaels Kindergarten class for spending some time with us this morning.

The kids and the residents had the best time coloring and visiting. We can’t wait for them to come back and visit us soon.

It's National Dog Day and we had a visit from our friends at Prarie Paws Animal Shelter.Our residents are in puppy love with Luna and Pulled Pork ❤️ both of these well behaved four legged friends and others need their forever homes so please share and let's help them find it.
In the meantime we hope our custom made tye dye blankets help bring some love.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
Answer: I enjoy reading. My 5 year old son, Emerson, just started T-Ball so I enjoy that as well. When I'm not doing those things, I enjoy painting my 3 year old daughter Melody's finger nails. Sometimes she paints mine.

What is your favorite thing about your job?
Answer: Getting to meet new people and learning the stories of their lives.

What is your favorite vacation you ever took and what did you do/where did you go?
Answer: A trip to Chicago when my husband graduated Navy boot camp.

Describe the best day you ever had at this job.
Answer: When a resident remembered who I was and said I brought her comfort.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Answer: Probably mind reading so I could know what my kids were going to do before they do it!
