National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day is observed on July 27th each year to commemorate the end of the Korean War and honor the veterans who served.

This day signifies the armistice agreement signed on July 27, 1953, which brought an end to active combat between North and South Korea.

It's a day to remember the sacrifices made by American and Korean soldiers and to reflect on the legacy of the war.

We were honored to host a community memorial event recently. It allowed attendees to 'let their love grow' for their loved ones passed on with reverential time, activities and community fellowship. Inspired by this event and by this quote, I wanted to share it with you all.

Please consider these words as a beautiful reminder to revere life in all its forms, in all its chapters. We can't change the chapter, but we can make a difference in how the final chapters are experienced and yes, revered, one moment at a time.

At Northern Arizona Hospice, we meet patients and families where they are emotionally and in every way, giving the gift of Hospice as a dignified way to celebrate someone's final days as they wish them to be.

Our professional, highly trained team of clinicians and hospice workers can help. Call us today for more information, or if you'd like to get involved. (928) 639.6676

๐ŸŒŸ Northern Arizona Hospice is Proud to be a Level Four Partner in the We Honor Veterans Program! ๐ŸŒŸ

At Northern Arizona Hospice, we are deeply committed to honoring and serving our nationโ€™s Veterans with the respect and care they deserve. We are thrilled to be Level Four Partners in the We Honor Veterans program through the National Alliance for Care at Home!

What does it mean to be a Level Four Partner?

This prestigious recognition reflects our dedication to enhancing care for Veterans in our community.

As a Level Four Partner, we:
โœ… Improve Access and Quality of Care: We actively work to ensure Veterans receive exceptional end-of-life care tailored to their unique needs.
โœ… Engage in Performance Improvement: We implement projects, including Veteran-specific surveys, to measure and enhance our services.
โœ… Strengthen Community Ties: We maintain ongoing relationships with VA contacts and Veterans Service Organizations, fostering collaboration through regular meetings and activities.
โœ… Expand Education and Outreach: Our staff and volunteers receive ongoing Veteran-centric training, and we deliver at least three Veteran-specific presentations to community, healthcare, or Veteran groups.
โœ… Enhance Volunteer Programs: We evaluate and grow our Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer Program to provide meaningful support.
โœ… Refine Care Processes: We continuously improve our Military History Checklist process to better understand and address Veteransโ€™ needs during intake.

This milestone underscores our mission to provide compassionate, Veteran-specific care with integrity and gratitude. We are honored to serve those who have served our country, ensuring they and their families receive the dignity and support they deserve. ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and community partners for helping us maintain this recognition. For questions, contact us at 928.639.6676 or send a PM!

Aphasia is a language disorder that affects communication. The goal is to educate the public on aphasia and how to support individuals living with it, ultimately improving their communication experiences.

The National Aphasia Association (NAA) plays a crucial role in promoting awareness, advocating for research, and supporting individuals with aphasia and their families.

You can participate by learning about aphasia, sharing information on social media using relevant hashtags (e.g., ), and supporting organizations like the NAA.
