Recently, a young man reached out to me after coming across one of my business cards. What began as a simple conversation quickly revealed a powerful story of strength, resilience, and hardship. He’s doing everything he can to rebuild his life—he just started a new job—but right now, he's facing homelessness, has no reliable transportation, and often goes without food.
We all experience moments when we need a helping hand. This is one of those moments—a chance for community to step in and make a real difference.
I want him to know he’s not alone—and that when people come together, incredible things can happen.
I’m asking for your support. Whether it’s a donation of a dollar or ten, or simply sharing this message, every action matters. Every bit of kindness adds up, and together, we can remind him that hope and compassion still exist.

Our weekend was already packed, but we knew supporting the Sarpy County Fair was crucial, even if we couldn't make it this year. If you're attending the fair today, please stop by Dog Tags Garage, say hello to Mark, and show your support. Every gesture counts, and every person matters. Let's stand together for mental health and show we truly care.

I am excited to share some outstanding news with everyone. Tomorrow night at the Omaha Lancer hockey game is mental health awareness night. I am pleased to announce that I will have two tables set up on the concourse behind section 111. There are individuals who care and want to make a difference, and I am one of them. What better way to achieve this than through community engagement? I look forward to seeing you all and Go Lancers!!

I shared a comment on a friend's post that resonated with me deeply, and I felt inspired to share it with others. Recognizing our own worth is vital, just as we appreciate the value of the things we own. It's essential to place value on oneself in the same manner one would value something cherished.

Be unapologetically yourself and find the value from within. Otherwise, you’ll always contradict or argue with the value others see in you. In short, YOU are the cheat code.

Don’t place value on yourself from opinions of someone playing a different hand than yours. Your journeys weren’t the same, therefore your destinations will also be different.

Tonight, we kept the spirit of generosity alive by using a gifted gift card to provide a holiday meal for those in need. We delivered 12 pizzas, 3 orders of breadsticks (thanks to Devon and the crew at Little Ceasers on 32nd and Broadway) and about 10 dozen donuts to the Joshua House and the Emergency Shelter. This weekly tradition is something we're passionate about, and we aspire to expand our support to other area shelters.

You may know what these tablets are or know a loved one who takes them, but in case you don't, I will fill you in. That medication allows people to deal with a normal day to day life. Although most days it leaves them tired, spaced out, emotionless, or even super emotional.

Crazy right? Why would anyone want to feel like that?

Well this is why!!

You see, some people suffer from severe depression and anxiety.
In their brain it doesn't sit right, something seems different. They notice little differences that other people wouldn't. Most days they wake up sick and feel sleepless.

They consistently overthink every situation.
Was a comment about them; was it a joke?
Was that person supposed to laugh?
Or did they mean it?
Are they being nice?
Are they talking about them?
Do they talk about them?
They then think, I bet they don’t like me really.

They say sorry all the time. They feel like they annoy everyone.
And for all those questions they will spend hours trying to answer. Let it all build up in their mind, until it sends them to tears...... it's mental that they see things that way.

It's not only mental changes, but physical changes. They don't eat a lot or they eat way too much. Insomnia, up all night answering questions to situations that don't even exist, or sleep too much and waste half their day still feeling tired.

They still smile and they have every excuse for when you ask why.
But the tablets can help them. Because they know when they start to feel this way or think this way, they need help.

They know that when their behavior starts to change, They need guidance. And they understand that they don't need to be ashamed. They don't need to be understood. They just need to be accepted. Everyone is fighting a battle and sometimes you need to be kinder.

So I may just be another person who's talking about mental health....

Living with this illness is hard, but trying to understand it, is even harder. It’s also 100 times harder if they have another condition on top of this.

Don't suffer in silence.

Mental health is just as important as physical health.

Be part of the healing.💙
Be understanding.💙
Be kind. 💙

💙 Copied and pasted.💙

Sometimes don’t even try to understand, just simply love that person, support them, and be there when they need you. Some people in my life have truly mastered this, and for you I will forever be grateful!

Spread Warmth and Hope: Donate Today
As the cold winds of winter begin to blow, let’s remember those who need our compassion and support the most. Homelessness is a harsh reality for many, and during this time of the year, the struggle to stay warm and nourished becomes even more daunting.
We have the power to make a difference. Donating cold-weather clothing and non-perishable food items can offer warmth and sustenance to those in need. Imagine the difference a warm coat, a pair of gloves, or a hearty meal can make in someone’s life. These simple acts of kindness can bring hope and comfort to those facing the most challenging times.

Here’s how you can help:

----- Warm Clothing: Gently used or new coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, socks and hand/feet warmer

-----Non-perishable food: Canned goods, dried fruits, nuts, and other shelf-stable items.

Your generosity can light up the coldest days and bring a glimmer of hope to those who need it the most. Let’s come together as a community and show that we care. Every donation counts and brings us one step closer to a world where everyone has the basic necessities of life.

WE WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS THROUGH JANUARY!!

Please drop off your donations at;

House of Mufflers and Brakes 2717 Leavenworth Street
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
Or;
Contact James @ 712-309-2089 for pick-up options.

Thank you for spreading warmth and hope. Together, we can make this winter a bit brighter for everyone.
With heartfelt gratitude, The StompOutTheStigmaTogether Family>

‼️Remember, Sharing is also CARING!!! Please share and help spread love and kindness if you cannot donate.

Tonight was busy for us. We placed rocks and wristbands along the walking bridge and delivered Cheeseburgers, pizza, chips, and a heap of blankets to the Joshua House. Thank you to Little Ceasars On 32nd and Broadway for helping the cause and discounting our order. We'd love to do this monthly or even weekly if we can help. Please look at the link in the comments below if you want to help us. Thank you to all who made tonight possible, and we hope to have many more in the future!
