You have seen it advertised on TV and many are wondering about this new test called Cancerguard. Due to many inquiries, we have set up a program which can attend in person at Wings or virtually through Zoom this Thursday, 5/28 at 2 p.m. There will be a short presentation with plenty of time for Q&A. Participation is open to all patients, survivors, healthcare practitioners, family, care partners, and anyone who might just be curious.

Maybe you are asking yourself – what is Cancerguard?

Cancerguard is a newly developed screening technique designed to detect those harder to find cancers. There is a lot of confusion about this test and whether it is ready for primetime, who should consider it, and if insurance will pay for it. Come ask and get answered all your questions.

We had a whole lot of fun yesterday with Doodle Art Studio!

Not only was it the fastest hour and a half in human history, it was also wonderfully connective. People sitting together, doodling, laughing, talking, some about cancer, some about grandkids, all finding comfort in community.

That’s the beautiful thing about spaces like this. Sometimes healing looks like support groups and counseling. Sometimes it looks like crayons, markers and conversations that remind you you’re not alone. 🙂

Guys… Wine’d Down with Wings is LESS than a month away 🍷✨

One of our favorite nights of the year is almost here and trust us, you’re going to want to be part of it.

We’re talking:
🍕 Pizza from 712 Eat + Drink
🍷 Drinks + live music from White Catfish
🐐 Goats (obviously)
💐 A build-your-own bouquet bar
❤️ And a whole lot of community supporting local families impacted by cancer

This event helps Wings of Hope continue providing free emotional and mental health support services right here in our community for cancer patients, survivors, care partners, and families.

I sat with a woman yesterday during her wig appointment, who was 34 years young, living an hour and a half away from her treatment center.

When I told her and her mom about our Fuel for Hope program and got them signed up and set with some gas and grocery money, her mom cried and hugged me.

This is a very real reality for so many people in our state.

If you're able, please consider making a donation today.

Spa Day 2026 was one for the books!

There were more people that came.
There were more relaxing and fun things to sign up for.
There were snacks, flowers, laughter and joy.

What a beautiful day with beautiful people.

Just on Spa Day alone, we had almost $2,000 dollars' worth of volunteered time. Let that sink in....

When we tell people our volunteers are incredibly dedicated and wonderful, we're not kidding.

Calling on Community 💚

With gas prices continuing to rise, we’re seeing more and more cancer patients reaching out—almost daily—just trying to figure out how to get to their next appointment.

Did you know that many patients' undergoing radiation are at the hospital 5 days a week for 4–6 weeks?

That’s dozens of trips back and forth. On top of the cost of treatment, medications, nutritious food, and in many cases, reduced or lost income.

In fact, studies show that nearly 1 in 3 cancer patients report financial hardship during treatment, and for many, transportation becomes one of the biggest barriers to care.

That means people are having to make impossible choices:
Gas or groceries.
Appointments or rent.

At Wings of Hope, we believe no one should have to choose.

Through our Fuel for Hope program, we provide gas and grocery cards to help ease just a small piece of that burden, but the need is growing quickly. In 2026 alone, we’ve already provided over $3,500 in support, and the calls keep coming.

If you’ve ever wondered how to make a direct, meaningful impact—this is it.

💚 Help us keep our community moving forward.
