Did you know that good blood flow helps support healthy hearing and that damage to blood vessels in the ears can contribute to hearing loss?

The tiny hair cells in the cochlea rely on proper blood flow to translate sound into signals your brain can interpret, which means poor circulation can deprive them of oxygen and cause damage that doesn’t grow back. To protect your hearing, try practical limits with earbuds or headphones: keep listening sessions to 60 minutes or less at 60 dB and consider using a decibel meter app to track exposure. Wearing earplugs while doing yard work, vacuuming or at loud events such as concerts can also help.
