🌒 Albert and the Clockwork Riddle

Prologue

Albert Felix was almost certain he was destined for greatness. He had the spellbooks, the alchemy kits, and a collection of cloaks that billowed dramatically—even without wind. What he didn’t have, as of yet, was a sign.

So when Old Thatch the village tinkerer handed him a dusty, brass pocket watch that had been lodged inside a hollow tree trunk, Albert’s heart did a little jolt.

“Strangest thing,” Old Thatch had muttered, squinting at the elegant initials etched into the back: A.F. “Saw your name and thought, well… maybe it’s found its way home.”

Albert cradled it with a reverence usually reserved for ancient relics. It didn’t tick. It didn’t open. But he felt something. Magic, maybe. Or fate.
That’s when the twins showed up.
