In celebration of Long-Term Care Administrator’s Week, we are on Gretchen Sechio, Administrator, for her outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to resident-centered care.

Gretchen’s calling to long-term care is deeply personal. Her journey began with her beloved grandmother— “Memere,” as the family affectionately called her—whose decline due to dementia exposed Gretchen to the emotional toll that families can experience. Throughout that time, there was little guidance and even less compassion offered to her family as they navigated the daily losses of someone they cherished so deeply. Missteps along the way left lasting emotional scars and, in Gretchen’s words, made it clear that “there had to be a better way.”

From that difficult experience grew a powerful sense of purpose: to make the greatest possible impact on families and healthy aging. Gretchen’s passion for the people who work in this field, her deep respect for families and residents facing some of life’s hardest decisions, and her desire to provide excellence in quality care for those most cherished have shaped her leadership and her approach to administration.

These three core values— for our people, for families and residents, and a commitment to in care—are at the heart of this organization and close to Gretchen’s heart as well. She is grateful for the opportunity to live them out every day in service to residents, families, and staff.
