My bestie asked me what my word for 2023 was, to describe my year in one word…

My first thought was 🔥rage🔥…which is accurate, but as I pondered it more deeply, I realized ✨possibility✨ was even more precise. *

Things did not turn out the way I imagined them to in 2023, some things were better, some things were worse. 🤷🏼‍♀️
So much was possible that I had never even considered, and so much more is possible still. 💫

Once upon a time…

I was born.
Forty five years ago today.

It’s been a compelling story so far…filled with comedy, tragedy, love, passion, magic, wisdom, learning, growing, and a lot of lovable characters.

Whatever your story is, I hope you know that I’m proud of you.
It’s not easy to slay the dragons, drink the potions or turn the page sometimes.
You’re still a hero, no matter how long it takes to get through a chapter.
And it’s always just a chapter.
There’s always a chance for a happy ending. 💫

Happy Birthday to me…and to you…whenever your birthday is, I’m happy you were born.

Today marks a week away from my 45th birthday.

Here are some of the things I learned at 44:

1. When a glorious spider creates a new web, they have to tear down the old one first.
2. It’s okay to mourn the old web. The space in between creations is also an important process.
3. Spiders are essential, and so are you.

4. Before the Phoenix rises, everything has to burn down first.
5. Break ups are not black & white (reach out if you need support with this. I’m your Heartbreak Homegirl 😉)
6. I am indeed love, and can also tap into terrifying when I need to protect myself.
7. Dream fulfillment follows vulnerability
8. What you assume to be true, is true for you.
9. Movement is important in healing trauma & regulating emotions.
10. It’s okay to ask for help. The people who love you are happy to do it.

And much more, obvi.

Can I marry you?

One of the highlights of my October was officiating a private marriage ceremony for a loving couple at their beautiful home.

It was an honor that they chose me to preside over their precious occasion (here I am at the post office mailing their license). 💌

I love being a part of someone’s love story, and being ordained to do so brings me so much joy.

I love love.
I do.

They’re my favorite and we always have a fun time.

Anyone who’s ever created a vision board with me knows they can be pretty powerful…

Especially when we make it playful…
holding space for each other, sipping wine & other bubbly beverages, feasting on light fare, listening (and dancing) to empowering jams, and spritzing ourselves and our boards with magic manifestation oil.

In relationships and friendships…

You will never be “too much” for the hearts that are meant to love you.

Be yourself, and if they don’t like it…

Then they don’t like you.

But you keep shining, you bright star, you.

Your people will find you.

They’ll love you in all your authentic wholeness, humanness and playfulness.

And it will all be worth it and better than you can even imagine.

Grateful for the hearts and hands that brought my joy back and put me back together again.

All mirrors in the studio are covered so, we can connect with our bodies freely, as it will be a sacred time to dance, enable self expression, and learn how to be present in our bodies.

Throwback to 2020 when I used to have solo dance parties in my studio to cope.

Now I get to co-facilitate them for others. 🙏🏼

Together we meet to shake out & set free our collective trauma, our personal trauma, and the trapped emotions those traumas have created in our bodies, through Cognitive Behavioral Therapist & survivor approved lightly guided, mostly freestyle dance.

Studies show that movement, especially shared movement, is a whole person approach to working through trauma & building resilience.

This Sunday, join us as we gather to dance, support, & hold space for each other in a safe setting.

The suggested donation is $10, and your contribution helps keep the studio open for continued healing.
