Madeline M.

We first got to know Maddie during her high school internship. From the very beginning, her curiosity, energy, and kindness stood out. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into an exceptional young woman and collegiate beach volleyball athlete.

Maddie turned what could have been a setback—her injury—into a powerful opportunity for growth and self-discovery. She showed incredible perseverance and maturity, using that experience to fuel her passion for helping others through physical therapy.

Now, as Maddie wraps up her college volleyball career and prepares to begin her journey as a physical therapy student, we couldn’t be more proud. Her caring heart, strong work ethic, and genuine compassion will make her an outstanding addition to the profession.

All of us at Flex are honored to have been a part of Maddie’s story—and we’re so proud to claim her as one of our own.

Maicee, your journey is one of resilience, dedication, and heart. Throughout your career you faced several injuries that could have sidelined most athletes—but not you. Instead of letting setbacks define you, you used every challenge as fuel to come back stronger.

During rehab you stayed focused and determined, earning the admiration of everyone here. Your work ethic and positive attitude made you the “spirit animal” of the clinic—someone who could lift spirits just by walking into the room.

On the field you led with quiet confidence and fearless determination. You've never needed to say much to get a point across; your actions speak much louder than words. Your teammates looked up to you not just for talent, but for toughness, selflessness, and drive to always be available.

Behind a tough exterior is a kind, respectful young woman who treats everyone with genuine care. You embody the “work hard” mentality in everything and you continue to set an example for others to follow. Maicee, you are one of a kind—deeply appreciated both on and off the field by family, teammates, and everyone lucky enough to know you.

From walk-on, to scholarship, to champion, and now to future physical therapist—if past history is any predictor of future success, you’re in incredible shape. The same grit, sacrifice, and determination it took to earn and keep your spot as a college catcher may be the hallmark of your playing career, but it’s also the foundation of what will make you a great PT.

We’ve been fortunate to know you well beyond the field and have seen that behind the gritty player is a truly amazing person—grounded, authentic, and faithful. Even in the midst of adversity, your faith and joy never wavered.

How fortunate we’ve been to know both the person and the player—and how fortunate your future patients will be to experience that same strength and compassion on a professional level. We can’t wait to see you shine in your next field: physical therapy.

Cedric has been coming to Flex throughout his high school career as a dedicated track athlete. Over the years, he faced various injuries and setbacks—challenges that could have discouraged many in his position. But Cedric consistently approached every obstacle with hard work, a positive attitude, and an unwavering determination to return to the sport he loves.

He has always been polite, grateful, and engaged in the rehab process, embodying the qualities that make working in this profession so rewarding. Watching him persevere through adversity and grow both as an athlete and as a person has been an inspiring experience for our entire team.

Working with patients like Cedric reminds us why we do what we do. His commitment and resilience make our jobs not only easier, but truly enjoyable. We’re excited to see all the great things in store for him as he continues to chase his goals.

United Youth is dedicated to fostering a faith-centered, healthy sports community. This past Saturday, we had the privilege of hosting both Archbishop Hannan and St. Paul’s School’s boys basketball teams at Camp Abbey for a team retreat ahead of their upcoming seasons.

Five inspiring speakers—Paul George, Coach James Willis, Deuce Wallace, David Durand, and Brennan Garriques—shared powerful messages on topics like “Faith and the Pitfalls of Social Media”, “Whose Followers Matter?”, and “The Great Offer”, all emphasizing the importance of Faith, relationships and identity as children of God.

In addition to these talks, the retreat included small group discussions and team-building games, allowing players to connect with their coaches and teammates. Coaches also had dedicated time to discuss the unique challenges of communication with today’s generation.

The retreat concluded with confession, adoration, and Mass, celebrated by Fr. Cuong of St. Peter Catholic Church.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. While teenagers aren’t always thrilled about giving up their time, the feedback we’ve received has been positive.
