"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!"

Let’s talk about discipline.
It’s something we’ve all struggled with in one way or another.
As followers of Christ, we are called to deny our flesh. One of the ways we are called to do this is by denying your body’s desire to always be comfortable. Let that sink in.

TO DENY YOUR FLESH IS TO DENY YOUR BODY’S TENDENCY TO BE LAZY.

Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 5:24-25:
“Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
Crucifying your flesh with its passions and desires is not easy, which is often the case when it comes to living for Jesus. Remind yourself of this every morning when you wake up.

The Spirit does not call us to do the work of the Kingdom from the couch.
Of course it feels better in the short term to take the easy route. To put off that work out.
But it is within the God-sent struggle that we grow. Just as with building muscle, we build character.

There’s a reason why you always find a good excuse not to do that hard thing. Those ideas are whispers from the enemy.
Lies of the enemy keeping you distracted and convincing you that YOU’RE not worth the effort.
When you start doing these things not for yourself but to honor the Father, you build a resistance to those whispers.
You are at war with the flesh. If you don’t fight with the power given to you through Christ, your flesh will control you.

Shift your focus from looks or a number on the scale to what God wants for your body.
Allow Him to fuel you with divine strength and willpower through constant prayer and diving into the Word.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. – Hebrews 12:11

When your self-worth meter is running low, it can be easy to believe the lies of the enemy.

So here’s a little reminder of what God says about you:
You are made from scratch.
Your Creator had a world full of His children, 8 billion to be exact,
each one made entirely unique, each walking around living their lives,
and He decided that you were missing from it all.
God had a completely clean slate, and planned out every little thing that makes you, YOU!
Each hair on your head.
Each freckle on your skin.
Every thought on your mind and every ache in your heart.

Psalm 139:1-4 illustrates just how deeply God knows you:
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue,
You, Lord, know it completely.”

He knows you inside and out.
He saw each day of your life before one of them came to be.
Every time you doubted yourself.
Every time you broke.
Every time you battled sin.
Every time you lost.

Your creator looked at you and said “I want her anyway.”

You are exactly who God says you are.
A child of the King.
Beautifully and wonderfully made.
Precious in His eyes.
WORTHY of His love.
Made whole.
Your strength comes from Him. Your confidence comes from Him.
So why treat yourself any differently?
