STHS Parenting Center The St. Being a parent is a challenge. Sometimes you can use a little help, and the Parenting Center is ready for you.

Tammany Parish Hospital Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parenting, encourages optimal child development, and enhances the well-being of the family as a whole! Some people with young children utilize the center to help their children socialize with others without experiencing the trauma of separation anxiety. Some families utilize the center as a support system to help validate the very difficult job of parenting. This also gives them the opportunity to observe that many of the behaviors of their children are normal! For parents who are juggling more than one child, our programs give parents an opportunity to share individual quality time with each. As parents, it is nice to learn how other parents deal with the same challenges. Parents and caregivers may take advantage of the many programs that are offered to the community that deal with a variety of parenting issues. The Parenting Center is not just for parents with problems. The center is for parents who want to build on their parenting skills while developing positive self-esteem in their children. The Parenting Center is not affiliated with planned pregnancy organizations, nor does it scrutinize anyone’s parenting skills. We are all in this learning process together! The Parenting Center is not a day care or drop-off program. Most of our activities are interactive opportunities for parents with their children.

‘Letters from Santa’ campaign returns for 2025

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and the elves at St. Tammany Hospital Foundation and St. Tammany Health System’s Parenting Center are once again arranging for their pal Santa Claus to write personalized letters to local children.

A minimum $10 donation is required per letter, each of which comes with “reindeer food” (just to make sure Rudolph and the gang know they’re appreciated, too).

Letters can be ordered via the foundation website at STHfoundation.org/SendaSantaLetter, with proceeds support Parenting Center programs throughout the year.

The Halloween encore you didn't know you needed. 🎃

Halloween might be behind us, but the treats from the St. Tammany Health System NICU are just too good not to share.

Once again proving that you are never too tiny to celebrate, the STHS Neonatal Intensive Care Unit marked Halloween 2025 by decking out its littlest patients in festive costumes.

October is coming to a close! We had a great Halloween party today at the Parenting Center. We had Jess from the St. Tammany Parish Library come read to us and then we trick-o-treated and ate yummy snacks together!!
