Medicare SHIP

Medicare SHIP Medicare SHIP helps with Medicare & other benefits that impact the lives of disabled and older adults There is no charge for SHIP services.

SHIP provides information, counseling and help with applying for benefits to anyone over the age of 60 and disabled people, their family members and their caregivers. Legal Aid of the Bluegrass provides this SHIP service in part of Kentucky. Our well-trained SHIP counselors and volunteers assist and educate the general public and people who get Medicare about their benefits options so they can make better decisions about their health care. We help people living in the Bluegrass, FIVCO and Northern Kentucky counties. The SHIP Program does not sell anything. You can call us for help or see us in an outreach event in your area

As Elder Abuse Awareness Month comes to a close, Gateway Area Development District remains committed to protecting the dignity and safety of our older adults.

Elder abuse—whether physical, emotional, financial, or neglect—can happen anywhere, and far too often, it goes unreported.

Let’s carry this awareness forward into every month. If you suspect elder abuse, don’t stay silent.

📞 Call Kentucky Adult Protective Services at 1-877-597-2331 or 1-800-752-6200.

Together, we can build a safer, more compassionate community for our elders.
