Our Homemade Ice Cream Tasting was filled with delicious flavors from classic chocolate, peach, strawberry, butter walnut and a specialty flavor Bird Dog Becky a mix between rocky road & a pecan pie!

We want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Rock House Farm & Creamy for donating all the wonderful ice cream for our residents & families. They enjoyed being able to try all the different flavors and voting on the best ice cream! By unanimous vote CHOCOLATE was the winner!

Today Benton House of Covington dropped off 26 book bags and extra school supplies to Porterdale Elementary School!

Each backpack was packed with not only the school supplies the students needed, but with love from our residents.
They had such a great time gathering supplies and checking items off of the backpack list!

Benton House of Covington Honors Walking Club Members and Supports Local Charity
Covington, GA – July 1, 2025 – On Friday, Benton House of Covington proudly celebrated the achievements of its dedicated Walking Club members by presenting them with milestone shirts in partnership with the local nonprofit, The Newton County Miracle League. The special event was made even more memorable with appearances from athletes representing both the Braves and the Rangers.
Following the presentation, residents and Miracle League athletes enjoyed a refreshing treat from the Great White Shaved Ice Truck. The celebration recognized the hard work and determination of residents who have committed themselves to walking for a cause. To date, Benton House of Covington has walked nearly 900 miles in 2025!
A special recognition was given to resident Ed P., who has walked over 1,000 miles since joining the Benton House family in 2019 — all in support of charity. His dedication embodies the spirit of the national Benton House Walking Club initiative, where communities across the country walk to raise funds for charitable organizations in their community. The location with the highest total miles earns a $2,500 donation to their chosen charity.
“We’re so proud of our residents and grateful for the Miracle League athletes who joined us to celebrate these incredible achievements,” said Sharon White, Executive Director of Benton House of Covington. “This event highlights the power of community, movement, and giving back.”

Friday we presented our walking club members with their milestone shirts along side our local charity The Newton County Miracle League and enjoyed a sweet treat from Great White Shaved Ice Truck! Thank you to the players from the Miracle League for coming out and assisting with handing our residents their milestones they have reached so far this year. The residents have been hard at work putting in the miles!
