Would you hire a candidate based on this drug test result?

It's easy to consider this result to be positive since it has only one line for THC. But that would be incorrect.

Instant tests are presumptive screening tools and such a result is considered "presumptive positive". The FDA, many state laws, and best practice require that such tests be confirmed at a certified lab before their are considered final.

Fortunately for the candidate, we followed best practice, sent it to the lab for confirmation, and the lab confirmed the result was negative. It costs a little more and takes a little longer, but it's worth it. The candidate got the job.
