Sadness and depression are not the same thing. Sadness is a natural human emotion that comes and goes. Depression is a serious mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and functions. Understanding the difference helps us recognize when someone may need more support.

Sadness is usually temporary and caused by a specific event. It improves with time and comfort.
Depression is persistent, can appear without a clear cause, and can impact sleep, appetite, motivation, and daily life. It may also increase the risk of su***de if left untreated.

No one should feel ashamed for needing help. Reaching out for mental health care takes courage and can save a life.

Your donation to STOPS supports su***de prevention programs, crisis intervention, and mental health education across the Florida Parishes. Together, we can reduce stigma, increase awareness, and help more people get the care they deserve.

When today feels unbearable, please hold on. What you feel right now will not last forever. Even one more hour, one more night, one more sunrise can open the door to a different tomorrow.

Su***de prevention starts with connection. When a community speaks hope, offers support, and stands with those who are struggling, lives are saved. You are never a burden, and your story still has more to unfold.

Donate to STOPS to help expand crisis support, mental health education, and su***de prevention resources across the Florida Parishes. Your generosity can give someone the strength to stay for tomorrow.

Wait. Tomorrow is another day.

Taking small moments throughout the day to check in with yourself can support your mental health and help you stay grounded. Paying attention with compassion instead of judgment is one of the first steps toward healing.

1. Here are six powerful things to notice today
2. The words you speak to yourself, especially when you struggle
3. How you nourish and care for your body
4. Who and what you give your time and energy to
5. What you are grateful for, even if it is something small
6. What is draining you, and where you can set boundaries

Which emotions are you experiencing, and what may they be telling you

These simple awareness practices can reduce stress, build resilience, and help prevent a crisis before it begins.

Your support helps STOPS provide mental health education, su***de prevention resources, and compassionate outreach across the Florida Parishes. Together, we can create a community where everyone has the support they need to stay safe and connected.

Every emotion has a purpose. Anger, fear, sadness, disgust, and joy are all natural responses to what we experience in life. Mental health strengthens when we learn to acknowledge our feelings rather than hide them or feel ashamed.

Anger can show us where boundaries are needed
Fear can help us stay safe
Sadness and grief can honor what we have lost
Disgust can protect our values and well-being
Joy reminds us of what makes life meaningful

Talking about emotions reduces stigma and strengthens mental health for everyone. When people feel safe expressing their feelings, they are more likely to seek support before reaching a crisis.

Your donation to STOPS helps expand su***de prevention resources, crisis intervention, and mental health education throughout the Florida Parishes. Together, we can create a community where every emotion is welcomed, and every person is valued.
