Anakin may only have three legs but he doesn't let that hold him back! This happy boy is full of life and energy. He gets regular acupuncture, as well as herbs and a quality glucosamine supplement, to help with his hip dysplasia and arthritis. Since starting treatment, his owner says he is up and around more and moving a lot better. "Dr. Posey and Kristi are absolutely amazing! Here is Tucker enjoying his acupuncture treatments! His owner says, "My half Husky , half German Shepherd, Tucker has so improved since I began taking him to Dr. Posey. He was dealing with autoimmune symptoms and arthritis in his knee and hip. Since he has been receiving regular acupuncture treatments together with dietary herbal supplements, he is radically improved. I am so grateful for the gentle and loving care he has received at Veterinarian Holistic Healing and I highly recommend them. Tucker has been having issues dealing with the heat. Although numerous theories think that clipping a dog with such a thick coat is harmful I decided to clip him with about a quarter of an inch hair left on 3/4 of his body. This immediately relieved him, and he suffered no adverse effects from the clipping."

Jet originally came to see us for a suspected Liposarcoma on his front leg and arthritis issues. He started regular acupuncture treatments along with herbal therapy for his issues. After just a few treatments Jet began to move around better and his leg mass began to shrink. When he first came to see us the mass measured 4.8" x 6.8" (First photo). Eight months later the mass measured 1 3/4" x 2 1/4". His owner says, "Since seeing Dr. Posey, Jet's tumor has shrunk a significant amount in size. He was also having issues with his back legs as he has bad arthritis. Since starting acupuncture therapy Jet's legs/hips have done a 360; he can finally enjoy his long walks again! We are so happy with our improvements!"

May is Arthritis Awareness Month. Arthritis is a common ailment among older animals but there are things we can do to help! Acupuncture and quality supplements can help our fur babies be less painful and get around better. This sweet boy Jet has bad arthritis in his hindquarters. His owner says, "Since starting acupuncture therapy Jet's legs/hips have done a 360; he can finally enjoy his long walks again! We are so happy with our improvements!"

April is Heartworm Awareness Month. The mosquito population runs rampant in our area and it would only take one bite from one mosquito to infect an animal. Even animals who rarely go outside are at risk since mosquitoes always seem to find a way inside our homes.
And it's not just dogs who are at risk. Cats can be infected by heart worms too. While they may not show signs of damage from heartworm infection as quickly as dogs, the worms can still do major damage over time. This disease is easily preventable so be sure to keep your fur babies on monthly preventative and do yearly heartworm tests to check for infection. Your fur babies will thank you!
