The dental assisting students have been hard at work this week with hands-on learning! 🙌
They practiced taking PVS impressions, pouring up stone, completing bite registrations, making wax bites, and trimming their models. We’re proud of their progress! 🦷✨

Today, TCAT Northwest welcomed 7th graders from Crestview Middle School for a campus tour! During their visit to the Dental Assisting program, the students learned proper oral hygiene techniques. Our dental assisting students demonstrated how to brush and floss effectively and shared why maintaining good oral health is so important.

It was a wonderful day educating and inspiring these young learners! 🦷✨

The Dental Assisting students would like to give a huge thank you to Elite Dental Care for their incredible hospitality! 💙

Students had the opportunity to tour the Jackson office, meet with administration to learn about the amazing career opportunities available, and chat with experienced dental assistants — including recent graduate Jenna — to gain valuable insight into their future careers.

We are so grateful for the time, encouragement, and kindness shared with our students. A special thank you to Elite Dental Care for also providing lunch for everyone! 🦷✨

🧫 Hands-On Microbiology!
As the Dental Assisting students wrapped up their lessons on microbiology and sterilization, they put their knowledge to the test with a fun, hands-on activity! Students swabbed various surfaces and placed their samples on petri dishes to observe how bacteria grow over time. What a great way to see infection control in action! 🦠🦷

Today, our Dental Assisting students learned how to take vital signs, including blood pressure, an important skill for every dental office. Understanding a patient’s vitals helps ensure safe and quality care during dental treatment. Great job, future dental assistants! 👏🦷

Today, our Dental Assisting students spent the day perfecting two essential skills — taking dental impressions and using the intraoral camera! These techniques are key parts of patient care, helping future dental assistants capture accurate molds and clear images to support diagnosis and treatment planning.

It’s always exciting to see our students learning, practicing, and gaining confidence in their skills! 👏✨

🦷✨ What an incredible day for our Dental Assisting students!
Today, the class toured the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry, where they explored the many specialties within the field. Students also had the chance to chat with experienced dental assistants and gain valuable insight into their future profession.

A special thank-you to Dr. Tilashalski, Dean of the College of Dentistry, for taking time to meet with our group. We are so grateful for this unforgettable and inspiring opportunity! 💙❤️

It’s been a very busy few weeks learning about microbiology and sterilization. It is essential for a dental assistant to understand how to protect both themselves and their patients from the spread of disease. A variety of important skills have been introduced, including disinfection, sterilization, draining waterlines, and cleaning suction hoses. And of course, there’s no better way to practice than by putting a classmate in the chair! 🦷🪥🦠
