The Lotus Sanctuary

The Lotus Sanctuary The Lotus Sanctuary is a nonprofit offering a Holistic approach to Healing for PTSD & Trauma Survivors in the Northern KY and Greater Cincinnati Area.

Background Info about The Lotus Sanctuary:
Recent studies show that trauma is a public health crisis and as we have seen shootings, suicide, and violent crime rates increase, it is apparent that the current mental health system is not effective. The studies also revealed the root cause behind much of the mental and physical illness, addiction, crime, domestic violence, homelessness, and suicide is

unhealed Trauma. Whether the Trauma was recent or was an event that happened years ago, Trauma has lasting effects that keep Survivors in unhealthy patterns and hinders fulfilling life potential. The idea of creating a holistic safe haven was born out of the lack of "real help" and holistic resources for PTSD and Trauma survivors in our area. The Lotus Sanctuary began on May 23rd, 2019 with our first free Healing Share at Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington for PTSD & Trauma Survivors, with 4 healers and 9 participants. The programs of The Lotus Sanctuary address all sources and forms of PTSD/CPTSD and Trauma including; violent crime or witnessing violence, death of a loved one, major illness, tragic accidents, military/war PTSD, systemic oppression and discrimination child abuse, emotional/psychological and spiritual abuse, neglect, sexual violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, bullying, abduction or living with a cult, etc. We increased the number of participants each month and continued till the pandemic shut down in March 2020. After the pause for COVID, in May of 2022, we had our first post-Covid Healing Share, and we want to fully resume our cause in January of 2023. Our mission statement: The Lotus Sanctuary seeks to assist those living with PTSD and Trauma Survivors to heal through Trauma-Informed Care Therapies, Holistic Healing, and Life Coaching Holistic Healing, so they can move past living in trauma response patterns and lead happier more productive lives. Whether the Trauma is interpersonal trauma (the trauma that happens between people) or the Trauma is from experiencing war, a natural disaster, a violent crime or an accident, the after effects can be CPTSD/PTSD or other mental health issues. PTSD and Trauma response behaviors are similar no matter what source created the Trauma and likewise, the ways to heal. Though there are more effective holistic treatments available, there is a lack of integration of these into our current mental healthcare system. Since the COVID Pandemic, studies are finding there is even more need for PTSD and Trauma services, as many are dealing with the fallout from the last 2.5 years. Furthermore, access to Healing and therapeutic modalities can cost over $100 per session which means many can’t afford it. The Lotus Sanctuary hopes to be a bridge to healing PTSD & Trauma by offering holistic healing modalities, trauma-informed therapies, and life coaching on a sliding scale or at no cost for those who qualify. If you would like to get involved, you can help with our mission by volunteering, becoming a sponsor or assisting us with our fundraising efforts. For more information please send us an inbox message or email and thanks for your support!

KY Survivors KASA needs your help!!

URGENT: Survivors Need Your Help!

A new federal memo could freeze essential funding for Kentucky’s r**e crisis centers, jeopardizing life-saving services. Last year, we served 5,349 survivors in Kentucky.

Take action now: Call or email your representatives to urge them to stop this harmful funding pause. Here’s what to say:

📞 Sample Phone Message:
"Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m calling to urge [Representative/Senator] to oppose the OMB memo M-25-13, which pauses federal grants and funding. This threatens essential services for survivors of sexual violence in Kentucky, including the 5,349 survivors helped by Kentucky's r**e crisis centers last year. Survivors need immediate support, and interruptions in funding will cause real harm. Please take action to stop this pause."
