We hope all of our patients and their loved ones are safe. Due to Ida’s impact on Covington and the surrounding area, our office is closed until power is restored. We will keep you updated and reschedule your appointments as soon as possible!

COVID-19 Update

Beginning Monday, May 4th, Dr. Joel and Dr. Ed will begin seeing patients for all time sensitive dental procedures. Burvant Family Dentistry has always maintained strict infection control protocols and will continue to uphold this standard. In an effort to keep our office a safe and secure environment we will be implementing a few additional measures.

· You must be FEVER FREE FOR 7 DAYS prior to your appointment. If you are sick or in the same house as a sick family member, please contact our office to reschedule your appointment. In order to protect our staff and patients, we will not treat anyone who presents with symptoms of being ill (coughing, runny nose, sneezing, fever, shortness of breath, etc.)

- We have touchless hand-sanitizing dispensers throughout the office and reception area.

- We will have every patient rinse with 1.5% hydrogen peroxide solution upon entering the operatory.

- We are increasing the frequency of which our designated team members are cleaning, disinfecting and wiping down everything in the treatment rooms, restrooms, and reception room. This includes chairs, door handles, light switches, tables, etc.

- We’ve placed medical grade air purifiers in each room (rated for .1 microns).

- We ask that when you arrive at the office, you call us and let us know you are in the parking lot. If your chair is not ready, we will call you back to let you know when it is.
We want to limit the number of people who enter the office as much as possible. Please do not bring additional individuals with you to your appointment, unless it is necessary that someone come to assist you.

- Also, we ask that you please brush your teeth prior to your appointment.

In an effort to keep our community safe, Burvant Family Dentistry will close for all non-essential procedures for the next 30 days. We will limit our practice to emergency dental care, only, during this time. We will continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 as it develops and keep you informed of any changes. The Louisiana State Board Dentistry has prohibited all non-essential, routine dental procedures in the state from March 18 until at least April 16.

Following the American Dental Association’s recommendation, we will limit our practice to emergency dental care, only, during this time. At Burvant Family Dentistry, our main priority is the safety and health of our patients and team members. As of now our offices will remain open as we continue to monitor the situation with regards to the novel COVID-19 virus. To keep you informed on the steps we are taking to support local health and government officials in containing the spread of the virus, we are:
1. As always, following the CDC's guidelines for universal precautions regarding personal protective equipment and the disinfection of treatment rooms after each use.
2. Hand sanitizer will be available at check-in and check-out areas.
3. Patients are encouraged to wait in their car and call us to inform us of their arrival and we will call back when they are ready to be seated.
4. We will refrain from hand shaking.
5. If you have a fever, flu-like symptoms, have been outside the country in the last 30 days, or have come in contact with a person who is feeling sick or has been outside the country in the last 30 days, please call us to reschedule your appointment.
