Serving the needs of veterans and trauma survivors, including adolescents struggling with the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Family members of the survivor are also invited to participate in the healing ministry. ast one traumatic event. Of these individuals, 20% (roughly 44.7 million Americans) have previously struggled, or are currently struggling, with the symptoms of PTSD. At any given time, 8% of Americans are living with PTSD. It’s estimated that as many as 5% of teens aged 13 to 18 experience PTSD. Girls are more likely to experience it than boys. The prevalence of PTSD is about 8% for girls and 2.3% for boys. Careers that lead to a higher risk for PTSD include: Military Personnel, Police Officers, Firefighters, and Emergency Medical First Responders.
