This page is your go-to resource for deepening your understanding of mental health and discovering ways to enhance your well-being. My name is Ann-Marie Lamin-Anthony, and I'm excited to be on Facebook as Nurse-Annish. I'm a registered nurse specializing in mental health. As a mental health nurse, my goal is to help people who struggle with mental illness, trauma, addiction, and other challenges. I see first-hand how common these issues are and how much stigma surrounds them. I want to use social media to help break down those stigmas and start meaningful conversations. On my page, I will share information about different mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and resources for support. I'll also share stories from my experiences as a nurse to give insights into recovery. My hope is that by helping to educate others, we can create more empathy and understanding. I enjoy cooking, shopping, and spending time with family when I'm not at the hospital. I'm looking forward to connecting with others as passionate as I am about mental health advocacy and community. Please message me if you have any questions or want to discuss specific topics. I'm here to help however I can. Follow Nurse Annish to stay informed and supported as you pursue better mental health. Let’s break the stigma and promote mental wellness together. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know you all better!

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is Real ☁️
Feeling 'down' lately? It might not just be the blues; it could be the lack of light. 📉 SAD is real, and it hits hard this time of year. Don't shame yourself for having low energy. Chase the light today—literally. Open the blinds, take a walk, or look into light therapy. Your brain needs the sun! ☀️🧠

Anorexia Treatment & Recovery
Anorexia treatment is challenging but essential, requiring a comprehensive plan tailored to each person's needs. Goals include reaching a healthier weight, addressing emotional issues, processing thinking patterns, and developing long-term behavioral changes. Treatment often combines psychotherapy, medication, nutrition counseling, group/family therapy, and medical care. Recovery happens in stages, from not recognizing the problem to maintaining changes for over six months. While recovery is possible, the risk of relapse is high, making ongoing support crucial.

Anorexia Nervosa is not a lifestyle choice; it is a serious mental health condition. It’s often less about food and more about coping with painful emotions and seeking control.
But here is the truth: Recovery is possible. You do not have to fight this battle alone. Healing begins with being heard. 💙

Your worth is not measured by a number on a scale. 🕊️
Anorexia thrives in silence and secrecy. Breaking that silence is the first step toward freedom. If you are struggling, we are here to help you heal.

This Thanksgiving, I am looking back at the map of my life with so much gratitude. 🌍✈️
I am thankful for: The Journey: From the banking halls of Freetown to the psychiatric clinics of NJ. Every step, even the hard ones as a Direct Support Professional, prepared me for this moment. I'm humble!💕
