This page is your go-to resource for deepening your understanding of mental health and discovering ways to enhance your well-being. My name is Ann-Marie Lamin-Anthony, and I'm excited to be on Facebook as Nurse-Annish. I'm a registered nurse specializing in mental health. As a mental health nurse, my goal is to help people who struggle with mental illness, trauma, addiction, and other challenges.

I see first-hand how common these issues are and how much stigma surrounds them. I want to use social media to help break down those stigmas and start meaningful conversations. On my page, I will share information about different mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and resources for support. I'll also share stories from my experiences as a nurse to give insights into recovery. My hope is that by helping to educate others, we can create more empathy and understanding. I enjoy cooking, shopping, and spending time with family when I'm not at the hospital. I'm looking forward to connecting with others as passionate as I am about mental health advocacy and community. Please message me if you have any questions or want to discuss specific topics. I'm here to help however I can. Follow Nurse Annish to stay informed and supported as you pursue better mental health. Let’s break the stigma and promote mental wellness together. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know you all better!

Day 204: Check-In Wednesday – Strong for Them, Still Human for You

You’ve made it halfway through the week - showing up, pushing forward, staying strong for the people who count on you.

But how are you doing?

Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally. Is your tank running low? Are you carrying something heavy in silence?

Here’s your check-in — and a few steps you can take:

Pause. Give yourself 5 quiet minutes today. No phone. No noise. Just you.

Ask yourself honestly: What’s been hardest lately? Don’t push it down — name it.

Talk to someone. A friend, a brother, a mentor. Even a short message can help break the silence.

Move your body. A walk, a stretch, a run — not to escape, but to reconnect with yourself.

Rest without guilt. You don’t have to earn your rest by breaking down first.

You don’t always have to be “the strong one.”
You just have to be real — and that takes more courage than pretending you’re okay.

The message to always be kind is so crucial—kindness can be a powerful step toward healing and understanding. Recognizing that mental health struggles are real and valid helps foster a more compassionate and supportive community.

Remember, it's okay not to be okay, and seeking help is a sign of strength. You're not alone in this fight. 💙✨

The Power of Mindfulness and Meditation
Mindfulness and meditation are practices that encourage you to focus on the present moment, helping you step away from the noise of everyday life and tune into your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations. Mindfulness is the ability to be aware of what’s happening right now, without judgment, while meditation is the practice of focusing your mind to increase awareness and cultivate calmness.

🌟The Power of the Mind & the Art of Letting Go🌟
Our mind is an incredible tool, full of creativity, insight, and healing. But when it’s overwhelmed by overthinking, rumination, and anxiety about things beyond our control, it can cause unnecessary suffering.
Our mind is an incredible tool—full of creativity, insight, and healing. But when it’s overwhelmed by overthinking, rumination, and anxiety about things beyond our control, it can cause unnecessary suffering.

Neuroscience shows that stress from imagined future worries keeps our nervous system in survival mode, releasing cortisol and adrenaline that harm both our mental and physical health. The real challenge? Much of this stress isn’t from what happens to us, but how we interpret and replay those thoughts.

The key to resilience? Learning to distinguish between what we can change and what we need to let go of.
Letting go isn’t weakness—it’s an act of self-preservation. Pausing, breathing, and accepting reality as it is can unlock true mental freedom.

✨ Your mind is powerful—train it to find peace. ✨
