Nurse-Annish

Nurse-Annish Welcome to Nurse-Annish, your dedicated mental health education and support source, managed & curated by a passionate RN. Hello everyone!
(2)

This page is your go-to resource for deepening your understanding of mental health and discovering ways to enhance your well-being. My name is Ann-Marie Lamin-Anthony, and I'm excited to be on Facebook as Nurse-Annish. I'm a registered nurse specializing in mental health. As a mental health nurse, my goal is to help people who struggle with mental illness, trauma, addiction, and other challenges. I see first-hand how common these issues are and how much stigma surrounds them. I want to use social media to help break down those stigmas and start meaningful conversations. On my page, I will share information about different mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and resources for support. I'll also share stories from my experiences as a nurse to give insights into recovery. My hope is that by helping to educate others, we can create more empathy and understanding. I enjoy cooking, shopping, and spending time with family when I'm not at the hospital. I'm looking forward to connecting with others as passionate as I am about mental health advocacy and community. Please message me if you have any questions or want to discuss specific topics. I'm here to help however I can. Follow Nurse Annish to stay informed and supported as you pursue better mental health. Let’s break the stigma and promote mental wellness together. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know you all better!

🌿 Storms don’t last forever… but they make you stronger.
🌳 Same tree.
🍂 Different season.
✨ Same you.
Everything in life is temporary—trust the process. 🍂🌸

Life moves in seasons, just like nature:
→ Some days feel like winter ❄️—cold, quiet, uncertain.
→ Others bloom like spring 🌸—hopeful, colorful, full of new beginnings.
The tree doesn’t panic when it sheds its leaves… 🍃
It knows growth is coming.
It trusts the rhythm of the seasons.

And so should we. 💫
✅ Stay rooted.
✅ Stay patient.
✅ Your next chapter may be the one you’ve been waiting for.

🌟 Faith is knowing that every ending is just the doorway to a new beginning.
💭 What season of life are you in right now?

"Pursue yourself" means to prioritise self-discovery, personal growth, and aligning your actions with your true self. It involves understanding your values, passions, and goals, and then actively working towards becoming the best version of yourself. This includes self-reflection, exploring your interests, setting boundaries, and celebrating your progress.

Talking About Mental Health Can Save a Life. 🤝
At Gallant Minds Psychiatry, we believe in the power of open conversation. If someone you care about is struggling, reaching out is an act of profound care.

Here’s how you can help:
Ask Directly: "Have you been thinking about su***de or self-harm?" Clear questions open the door for honest answers.
Listen with Empathy: You don't need all the answers. Your presence and willingness to listen without judgment are what truly matter.

Encourage Professional Support: Offer to help them connect with a therapist, hotline, or trusted professional. We're here to provide expert care and guidance.

Silence isolates. Connection heals. Let's create a community where everyone feels seen and supported.

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, please dial 988 in the U.S. for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, or contact us directly at Gallant Minds Psychiatry.

Dear God,
I come before You with a grateful heart,
I have come a long way, and I thank You for every step of the journey.
For the moments of joy, the lessons in challenge, and the quiet whispers of Your guidance, I am grateful.

I give You all the glory for the person I am becoming.
Thank You for the strength to keep moving forward, for Your grace that sustains me, and for the hope that anchors my soul.

As I celebrate another year of life, please continue to lead me in Your truth.
Bless my days with purpose, protect my heart from fear, and fill me with compassion for others.
Help me to use the gifts You have placed inside me to make a positive impact on those around me.

Grant me wisdom to discern the right paths, courage to follow them, and patience to trust Your timing.
May I grow in love, faith, and gratitude, honoring You in all I do.

I surrender this year to You, asking that Your will be done in every plan, dream, and ambition.
May Your light shine through me so that others may see Your goodness and give You glory.

Thank You for the gift of life, for Your unfailing love, and for the countless blessings that await me.
In Jesus’ name (El Roi-The God Who Sees Me), I pray. Amen.

With a grateful heart, I celebrate You today and always. Happy Birthday To Me!

Day 204: Check-In Wednesday – Strong for Them, Still Human for You

You’ve made it halfway through the week - showing up, pushing forward, staying strong for the people who count on you.

But how are you doing?

Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally. Is your tank running low? Are you carrying something heavy in silence?

Here’s your check-in — and a few steps you can take:

Pause. Give yourself 5 quiet minutes today. No phone. No noise. Just you.

Ask yourself honestly: What’s been hardest lately? Don’t push it down — name it.

Talk to someone. A friend, a brother, a mentor. Even a short message can help break the silence.

Move your body. A walk, a stretch, a run — not to escape, but to reconnect with yourself.

Rest without guilt. You don’t have to earn your rest by breaking down first.

You don’t always have to be “the strong one.”
You just have to be real — and that takes more courage than pretending you’re okay.

This illustration beautifully captures the ongoing mental health battles that many face silently. It reminds us that everyone is fighting their own invisible war, often filled with guilt, shame, negativity, and discrimination.

The message to always be kind is so crucial—kindness can be a powerful step toward healing and understanding. Recognizing that mental health struggles are real and valid helps foster a more compassionate and supportive community.

Remember, it's okay not to be okay, and seeking help is a sign of strength. You're not alone in this fight. 💙✨

The Power of Mindfulness and Meditation
Mindfulness and meditation are practices that encourage you to focus on the present moment, helping you step away from the noise of everyday life and tune into your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations. Mindfulness is the ability to be aware of what’s happening right now, without judgment, while meditation is the practice of focusing your mind to increase awareness and cultivate calmness.
