Why are dilated eye exams important?

Dilated eye exams are important even in routine exams to help your eye care provider evaluate health issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma, and cataracts, which can lead to vision loss. Patients with certain health conditions (like those previously listed) should expect to be dilated every year.

As the school year begins, students and families face a mix of excitement, pressure, and uncertainty.

For students, changing friendships, getting your brain back into “learning mode”, and balancing school with other responsibilities are just a few of the ways starting a new school year can be stressful.

It’s good to remind students they are not alone; their feelings are valid, and help is always available.

Why do glasses prescriptions expire?

Although it may seem your vision hasn’t changed, your glasses prescription expires every year. Our Optical providers believe annual eye exams are important not only to renew your glasses prescription, but also to check the health of your eyes. Certain eye conditions, such as glaucoma and macular degeneration, don’t have any signs or symptoms during early stages of the disease. Early detection is important to ensure healthy eyes and vision for the rest of your life!

Please contact central registration at 715-478-4300 to schedule your eye exam today.

Understanding your insurance coverage is an important part of managing your healthcare. While we’re here to help guide you, it’s ultimately your responsibility to know what your plan includes—such as co-pays, deductibles, and what services are covered. We recommend reviewing your insurance documents or contacting your provider directly if you’re unsure. This helps avoid unexpected costs and ensures you get the most out of your benefits.
