Can I be BRUTALLY honest? 👇🏼
The lash industry loves to claim that retention is 50/50 between lash artist and clients… and I just don’t agree with that 🙅🏻♀️
It is more like 70/30, or even 80/20. Let me explain ➡️ You can follow aftercare to a T - buying high quality lash shampoos, changing your sleeping position, going above & beyond using blotting paper to remove oil from your eyelids during the day. But the secret is NONE OF THIS MATTERS if your lash artist doesn’t set you up for success!!
How often have you wondered why your lashes aren’t lasting? Have you noticed the conversation always gets pointed back to you? You’re asked about your skincare routine, if your products have oils in them, if you’ve slept on your face or touch your lashes. The HARD TRUTH is that even something small like room humidity being off when you came in for your fill could impact retention. The glue could have been used past its shelf-life and lost its structure. Your Artist was pressed for time and didn’t wrap each extension around the natural lash. 🤯 That’s 3 scenarios off the top of my head but there are sooo many more!
💭 How can you be held fully responsible for your retention if you had no part in the application? The ENTIRE POINT of seeing a professional is that you shouldn’t have to worry about these things! Yes, there are individual exceptions to this, but it is on the Lash Artist to communicate and alter their technique to improve lash longevity. That is NOT. ON. YOU.
That’s my 2 cents. If you’d like to experience a service with someone who takes full ownership of their retention - book with me at lashesbyriss.glossgenius.com ✨20% OFF ANY FULL SET/FOREIGN FILL THROUGH NOVEMBER 💸🖤
